Lou, I've only used the liquid OX and

I am pleased with the ease of use.

I have 2 mid-sized reservoirs in my home because I use 3 lpm and only

get delivery once a week.I also did not want to be dragging 100 ft of

tubing around.

My house is large and I'd need really long tubing,,,the 60 ft I use at

each tank is enough to trip up everyone else..not me. I choose not to

use the portable in the house...the puffing noise of the pulse is

annoying and the Helios gets heavy.

I have two of the smaller Helios units ( yes I have two) . I usually

fill them both up when I plan long a day out. They last about 4-4 1/2

hours each

but the fill up in the second one will disapate a bit so I won't get

that many hours out of it. But I can go out without

worrying about running out of O2...on longer days I take the ugly green

E tanks as back-up.

I just give

the Helios 15-30 minutes to set-up and begin to work. There have been

times when the Helios

has frozen up during usage and it doesn't deliver enough O2 for a few

moments. I can warm it up

(in the clay studio I use the hair dryers)( in the car I just put it

over one of the heating vents) or I just turn the flow down

and it warms up again. I don't care what other people think or say

anymore...I'm going out and doing what I want .

Re: Here is the NEW deal for me....................................

Hi Sher: Yes I think I did reply. I am so darn tired tonight I

don't know how far down the line the posting was. All I do know is

that the backpack I have been walking around with at (5)continuous is

not enough to last more than 2 1/2 hrs tonight. Know what? That is

crapola. Reason for crapola??? I am stuck in the house forever. The

humungous steel barrel keg that is taller than our dressers is filled

with 100% liquid oxygen that has to been filled at least every 2

wks. Also they only give you the one portable pak to use either in

the house or out. If I go out, I can not be gone very long. This is

also crapola. If we want to go visit my daughter (1 hr away, one

way) or Earl's kids at the beach (2 hr. one way) I will never be able

to go. They can only give you one reserve pak and you have to let

them know 2 days ahead. This is BUNK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They are coming in the morning to bring me the Marathon pak. omg, I

am so stressed I am exhausted. The pak ran out on me from 4:30 today

when they left to 7pm when it ran out of oxy.

WHAT SAY YOU???????????????????

Z...your post to Lou helps me too. I'm considering the liquid and your personal use is so much better than a 'brochure' or even what the Lincare driver says.

QUESTIONS: You say.....delivery once/week. (do you mean delivery or refill?)

..........if there is no tubing, how do you receive O2????

.........does the Helios make that "puffing noise" that does get annoying? (the one I use now, on top of the cyl, is quiet...no noise at all...it makes kind of a 'tick' with breathing. Very nice).

........Helios gets heavy?? I though it was light, one of the reasons I'm considering.

........first time I've ever heard we can just turn the flow down (if it freezes during usage) and it warms up. That is good info!!

I worry about the freezing part...filling or otherwise..

You've probably read my other posts that I'm back into volunteer work again. I know I will like it as I'm doing what I've done before.........advocating for seniors. Hence I want a lighter pack to carry.

I passed a greenware shop the other day and almost went in.....then changed my mind. I COULD just paint, but I don't even have a brush left from the 'good old days'. Do you ever do anything around your pottery you love? (loved?)

Sher, I meant refill of the big

reservoirs...I do use tubing just not 100 ft of it if I only had one

tank. Just 60 instead.

The Helios does make the puffing sound and it's annoying as h---. The

helios is light in comparison to lugging around an e-tank.( about 4 lbs

filled)

In the house ( unless I have company that might get caught up on the

tubing) I just pull the stupid tubing sort of like a cowgirl and her

ropes!!!

About the Helois...you need to be very quiet and still if you need to

turn it down...the amount of O2 will be less...so just find a quiet

spot for a few moments.

About the clay......Never will I give that up...

I have never left the pottery!!!!I use a huge ugly repirator mask in

the studio..it's annoying and my glasses fog up but I will not give up

the clay work!!!

I just finished another session of the ezperiences potters workshop

and will start the next one after the summer break.

Z....well then, isn't the Helios a pain when you're out in the public? That's what I hated about the previous "top" (never can remember the name) that went on the cyl. Geeze it was loud. People turned to look at what was coming! Sssssst Sssssst all over the store! Replaced it with one that is no noise at all. I'll hate to lose it and go back to noise again.

I do my tubing just like you do yours. lol.

Got Lola (doxie) caught in it yesterday and she just hunkered down like I was mad at her. Funny.

OK. If I go on liquid I will remember what you say about sitting quiet while Helios warms up. That's a really good tip!

I'm glad you found a way to play in the clay! When we do what's really loved there is so much pleasure.

I've always liked working with my hands. I'm doing a 'secret-mission' project right now. And speaking of which, I am going to go work on it right now! I have put it off too many days. Spend too much time here on the computer.

BTW. What are you making now?

Sher

Is a bit of a pain....I have Marathon so can switch to continuous at

times. Plus only has one continuous setting, 2 lpm, and will only last 2

1/2 hours or less on continuous. Now, the noise is more noticable to you

than to others but still can be heard. FYI, Mandi is really scared by it

(one of the two cats for whom I'm non-custodial parent).
