Thank you, I'm also a smoking-mom asthmatic. Now I know why I sometimes

crave salt.

There are some breathing exercises that I read about in a NYC newspaper that

children in the Bronx were doing. I don't know exactly what they are, but I

remember one of them was (something like) taking a deep breath, holding it,

and breathing it out slowly through pursed lips, kind of like using an

inhaler without the inhaler. I have used this exercise when desperate, and

it does indeed help. I think it increases the capacity of the lungs.
