Guest guest
I had a long response all typed out about how it should be an OK fish...relatively low mercury, but not great because it's also low-fat. Then just as I was finishing up I decided to check on whether it's an overfished variety. I'm sad to say that a preliminary search indicated that it *is* overfished. ly, I'm bummed. I've always liked pollock. It was always extremely affordable and mild but not tasteless. I'm starting to lean away from eating fish. Too many wild-caught are severely overfished. If they aren't overfished yet, they will be soon when everybody switches to using them because all the others are gone. I'm really starting to lean toward pastured animal products as my main omega 3 source... -----Original Message----- From: Joy Kortas [mailto:joyk10@...] Sent: Monday, February 25, 2002 1:52 PM Subject: pollock from alaska and 'spilled milk' I don't see pollock fish in NT. The IGA has 10 lbs. from Alaska at a good price. Would this be a healthy addition to our diet? Recently, my 5 year old spilled about a half a gallon of raw milk. After cleaning my own jars, driving about 50 miles, being sure my ice chest is clean and cold, it difinitely gives new meaning to " don't cry over spilled milk " . I made an extra trip to 'refill' my jars today and it is difinitely worth it! As a hypoglycemic, I have had a problem with insomnia and it has disappeared since I began drinking raw milk.
