I plucked this off another group list. Thought it might be of some

interest to some on this list.

According to other sources, raw honey is considered to be a simple

carbohydrate. According to Aajonus Vonderplanitz, author of the primal

diet, it is considered to be about 10% carbohydrates, and 90% protein

enzymes.

In my consultation with him, I was told that I am a borderline

diabetic. All but one serving of fruit per day was removed from my diet,

but I was free to eat raw honey, though advised to do with with fats,

since

it gives me headaches when eaten alone. I was told this is because it

detoxifies my brain of old, toxic sugar end-products stored there.

Aajonus believes that raw honey is actually very good for diabetics

because

it helps to balance out insulin levels. My own cravings for honey were

high in the beginning on this diet, but for whatever reason have all but

stopped now. <snip>
