Ze....where we currently live is not like "project housing" per se. Like in New York....We have a very nice complex with lovely landscaping and the apts are quite nice, although smallish. But actually, I wouldn't want much more to have to keep up.

The problem is, finding something else, somewhere else, where rent is computed the same way. Yeah, the govt. wants to know all our business but it's just the price we must suffer because we cannot pay market rent any longer.

Thirty-forty years ago, when these apts. were built, it was intended for elderly only. Now, here in the states anyway, laws have changed and there are no "elderly only" anymore. So we stay put and keep looking. We also have what is called "Section 8"...a program to help disabled/elderly with rent. However the waiting list is about 6 years long!! We've been on the list about 2 years I think.

Ever onward, ever upward!

Ze....housing does become an issue....something we all must take a good look at. We did not want to sell our lovely (although modest) home. Beautiful back yard with covered patio, three bedrooms, enclosed garage. NONE of which we have here. But we do what we have to do.

I can't imagine being expected to use a living room as a bedroom! Good golly!

We also can qualify for a 2 bedroom apt. because there are two of us, although we sleep in one BR. It does give a bit more space.
