Guest guest
Hey guys, Don and I were talking this morning and he said "I don't care about anything anymore. I'm going to die, so what? He used to watch the news stations because he loved the political garbage on tv right now. He could hardly wait for the newspaper to come so he could read it. He would watch tv 24/7 if he could. He cares about none of it now. I asked him why he felt that way, did he think that he has lost the desire to live? He said yes. Now he is on 40 mg of Cymbalta. Any higher dose tends to lower his blood pressure. Anyone got a clue ---- do we need to get him counseling? I'm not sure he will be up for it because he thinks it is "airing dirtly laundry". Kind of like an admission of weakness. I told him that I would post this because I'm sure he isn't the only one who feels this hopeless helplessness. Guest guest
, My Pastor yesterday talked about how Jesus went to pray in the garden and ask the disciples to watch for an hour. They were asleep when He returned. He went back and Prayed to the Father THREE times to let this cup pass from Him..  and ended each prayer with "Your will be done" guess what.. The Father didn't get an answer but His will was done and that is the marvel of it all. He gave us life in the hereafter. He knew us all before we were... Tell Don don't be discouraged, God knows and is preparing a place. Be still and KNOW.A lot of people think I am crazy BUT I do get very excited when I read the promises of God. Guest guest
Hi , Boy do I know how your husband feels. I haven't been able to talk much to my pastor either as he's had major surgery. Please let Don know even though I too am downhearted, my spirit of prayer raises up in me to pray even harder for Don. Let him know he is never alone. And thank you for your prayers. By the way, your quote from the Bible......I have that same quote on a plaque on my front door. Love, Vicky81856Wondering what's for Dinner Tonight? Get new twists on family favorites at AOL Food. Guest guest
Yeah he will. We just changed churches so it isn't like we know him well. He called when he heard (we live in a small town) about the hospital, but ....... we just don't feel close to him yet. I don't know, I doubt it he will go to counseling. Guest guest
Hi , Around the time i joined the group i was feeling extremely helpless for similar reasons - my mom was just not interested in anything. she just wanted to sit by her self most of the day. she prayed for a few hours. she did not like anybody coming to meet her - relatives et al. she barely talked to people on the phone (her coughing plays up when she is on the phone). my mom loves the outdoors and here she was confined to a single room in our house (because we live in an apartment, and because we had repairs going on at home). one of the things that may have helped is looking forward to an event in the future....she was feeling blue about the fact that she may not enjoy my wedding or may not be around or may not be involved in the preparations - last couple of weeks we engaged her in that. we made lists, stuff she wants to do for our trousseau. called designers over, so that she could see it all happen in front of her. warm wishes, vrinda > > > > > Hey guys, > Don and I were talking this morning and he said " I don't care about anything anymore. I'm not sure he will be up for it because he thinks it is " airing dirtly laundry " . Guest guest
Vicky...I'm sure glad to see you post this morning. As I read how you pray for others (many of us do) the thought came to me that if you were not here to pray, maybe there would be no prayers for that person. We pray for different people at different times....Vicky, if all you can do now is pray, think what a blessing God has given you. He trusts you to be faithful with what you are called to do.....(obviously you are called to pray because you are already doing it!) My heart feels heavy for you. I know how close you and your brother are and of course he is hurt when you are struggling. Keep on keepin' on girlfriend. Let the love out. Let the love out. I love you Vicky. Guest guest
K....you and Don get a DAMNIT! this morning. lol....I'm sure you can sense how anxious I am to help Don....do you think a phone call to the new Pastor inviting him over would be a good move?? I think most Pastors are glad to respond. A question: when you say, "I don't know" or, "I don't think or I doubt it" does that mean you have not spoken to Don, or you have and he says no...? In this case about counseling.... Drats, I wish we could visit face to face. It's hard sometimes to understand the "written word" not being face to face. It's no doubt stressful for you going back and forth from us to Don but thank God you are there and will do it. To Don.... Hi Don, hope you are having a good day so far. Are you beginning to get the feel for how much O2 to use and when? I think of you and so often and wish there was something I could do to be helpful. What do you think about the current Presidential run? Take care............ You too ! Mama-Sher, age 69.IPF 3/06, NSIP 4/08 OR. Don't fret about tomorrow, God is already there!
