, I think it could be hives from nerves. Ask the doc if that could be what is going on. Unfortunately, I went to the doctor with itchy rash, worst on my face, but itching everywhere (I mean everywhere).. the prescribed treatment for me was 1 week of Prednisone 40mg, then 1 week of half doses. If he is already on Pred, it probably is not hives. Just a word from me, cause I'm having it now, the rash doesn't necessarily come with the disease, but from the shock and scare. I hope he is better soon. Yes, yes, yes.. go to the doctor. It is a miserable itch!!! My husband is in final stages of Congestive Heart Failure, on Hospice, and my nerves are in a tangle. ,

I would get this information to your Dad's doctor. It is possible that this rash is an indication of some other disease process that could be treated. Or he could be allergic to a medication he's on or something else he's in contact with.

I have an intermittent, dry, itchy, peeling, callousing rash on my hands called "mechanics hand rash" that the doctors feel in indicative of some type of connective tissue disease that probably caused my pulmonary fibrosis.

It would be best to let his doctor recommend a specialist who can run the necessary tests to figure out what's going on.

Good luck!

IPF and Skin rash

My dad got a IPF diagnosis about three weeks ago. A bad rash broke outon his body twice in three weeks--about one week apart. Today, the rashwas bad. Blisters, red patches all over his body, itching; all lastedthrough-out the day. I'm wondering if anyone has suffered any rashincedents with IPF.thanks for your help, 's son,
