Guest guest
My doctor prescribed an oral rinse for me called Chlorhexidine Gluconate. I rinse twice a day with it for 30 seconds and it seems to control bad breath and any type of film building up on my tongue or the backs of my teeth. I'm 4 weeks post op now. > Its been 5 days since my surgery..And I have the worst possible > taste in my mouth when I wake up. I know its normal to have > that..But its really bad. Guest guest
Some other possibilities: A non-alcohol mouthwash, such as Biotene. I swished around dilute hydrogen peroxide or gly-oxide, and it helped me feel a bit cleaner, anyhow. I could also sort of swoosh it up under the splint. Do tell your doc. It's possible you're growing yeast or some other organism in there that needs treating. Yeast, or thrush, in the mouth has a characteristically nasty taste. I'd want someone to have a look, particularly if you see anything that looks different in there, like a white sort of coating... Guest guest
Scooter, I agree with cammie, ring your doc. I was told by my ortho that if I got any nasty tastes etc, to go down there asap, as it could be an infection. I suggest you should ring just to make sure. Regards, Kat_UK Re: Bad taste..
