Guest guest
I found an egg farm yesterday in Sacramento, CA that sells 2.5 dozens for $2 to $2.50. They also have some fertile eggs from free roaming chickens that get to eat whatever they find. He confirmed that chickens are partly predators, in a sense that they eat even mammals. They'll also eat each other. If one dies, it's not unusual for the others to eat it partially. And if one is sickly and can't get away, they will often finish it off. They'll pretty much eat anything that doesn't eat them first. Free-roaming chickens are less likely to canibalize, I think. That's neither here nor there, but people seem to have an image of chickens being only seed and plant eaters, and it just ain't so.
