Guest guest
Hi everyone, I wanted to let you all know that about 10 days ago Sally left the list due to her busy schedule and the fact that the volume of messages was overwhelming to keep up with. I know she appreciates all the discussion and the wisdom on the list but as you can imagine she constantly has to triage and focus on specific things. She has asked me to forward messages that are particularly interesting or that she might like to weigh in on. Best, PS - are there any good software programs out there that organize incoming emails that anyone could recommend?

It's mature, full of features and stable. It's got message filters that can be used to process incoming messages and, for example, put them in different folders. Many different actions can done on messages: standard ones (copy, paste, move, delete) and not so standard (flag, mark undread, add to junk email list, etc.). Messages (even multiple messages) can be included in an outgoing messages. It also comes with a calender feature (with reminder), Notes, Task, Contacts. I am pretty sure it supports multiple accounts. I'd be using it if I hadn't started with Netscape. Guest guest
I use Microsoft Outlook Express right now and it does a fine enough job for what I need. I have also used Pegasus and Eudora. I think my favorite has been Eudora although I have not used the newset version of this. They all filter the messages to specific folders, I have each of my different email lists I am on filtered to their own folder. They all do the fancy stuff as well, different types and styles, color, background, etc. Remember that most email programs have the features preset and you need to reset them yourself to what you want. OE presets its features to add every email address that comes in to your contacts list, yuck!! Grace, a Augustine I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright. I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun more. I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive. I wish you enough pain so that the smallest joys in life appear much bigger. I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting. I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess. I wish you enough ''Hello's " to get you through the final goodbye. --anonymous ----- Original Message ----- From: Roman Sent: Friday, March 15, 2002 3:21 PM Subject: Re: Sally Fallon --- radlife2002 <radiantlife@...> wrote: > PS - are there any good software programs out there > that organize > incoming emails that anyone could recommend? > MS Outlook is good. If there's a topic you're not interested in, you can just collapse the thread so that it takes up only one line in your inbox, or just delete the whole thing. _________________________________________________________________ Chat with friends online, try MSN Messenger: http://messenger.msn.com

That sure does sound like a nice feature I wish Eudora offered, but by using Outlook (or OE) you're opening yourself up to the vast universe of Outlook-specific viruses, worms and trojans. Not for me. -

Not for me. I've been using Outlook and Outlook Express for five years and have never had a problem. The vast majority of security breaches can be prevented just by keeping up to date on patches and not opening unidentified attachments ( " Here, you have ) " and " I send you this file to have your advice " do not count as identification). Thank you so much! I'm using Outlook 2002, so I'm not sure if it works for Outlook Express or earlier versions, but here's how: 1. Right-click on that grey bar at the top of your inbox that has all the column headers. 2. From the menu that comes up, select " group by box. " A box should appear above the column headers. 3. Right-click the column headers again, and select " Field Chooser. " 4. From the field chooser window, click on " Conversation " and drag it onto the box that appeared above the column headers in step 2. 5. Close the field chooser window. _________________________________________________________________ Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: http://mobile.msn.com
