Guest guest
My kids really like the Stretch Island fruit leathers. After learning so much on this site, I suspect they are not that great for you. They have some organic flavors, though. Does anyone know if they are okay or not? Guest guest
Do you have a dehydrator? I dehydrate applesauce (easy to make) to make my own fruit leather--my kids love it and they don't feel quite so " odd " at school-- Ang ----- Original Message ----- From: " leslieiniowa " <mclcdcmcmc@...> < > Sent: Monday, March 11, 2002 8:17 AM Subject: Fruit Leathers > My kids really like the Stretch Island fruit leathers. Guest guest
One can use a product called 'Pam' it is a non-stick spray for cooking, it is actually Lecithin, an emulsifier. (I take Lecithin daily.) > > I never use any type of non-stick cookware (lethal). Perhaps using good old parchment paper over a regular cookie sheet would work. Guest guest
NO wax paper! You want wax in your food? Thought not. It will melt in the dehydrator. Guest guest
But what about the propellant? The gasses that go into the air when it is used? Guest guest
I have three cans of Pam, so checked the labels. The lemon Pam has canola oil, lecithin from soybeans, lemon oil, and propellants in it. The garlic Pam has canola oil, lecithin from soybeans, natural flavor, and propellants in it. The olive oil Pam has olive oil, grain alcohol from corn (added for clarity), lecithin from soybeans, and propellants in it.
