I too had genioplasy (May 21, 2002). I never experienced anything

like what you described when talking.

I went through 2 genioplasties as well (in august) - within a month of

each other. First advancement by 12-13mm and then reduction

(slide chin back) by about 5mm. Much happier after my 2nd genio

cosmetically.

I have no stiffness problem - just numbness in some areas of the lower

gum next to the canines on one side (can't feel my gum when i floss

there) and a small area on the front of the chin which is not really

numb but has less feeling than normal. Minor side effects that i have

learnt to ignore and do not bother me.
