Guest guest
Hi guys, Kim what's a buffalo hump please? I would imagine I've gained a couple pounds since starting HC the week before Xmas but this isn't a bad thing in my case and I'm sure due to being able to eat again! I had lost about 10lbs in 2 months cos I had lost my appetite almost completely! In the first 2 years of hypo symptoms (2001) I gained about 25lbs so I know what that's like but believe me I'd prefer to have that weight on me than to go thru the last 2 months..its been hellish. Best Regards, Sara > > I didn't worry about it at first, but now I am up to 30 lbs in 3 months and > I am eating very healthy and around 1800 calories. > > > Reynolds > Sent: Wednesday, January 02, 2008 9:46 AM > To: NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS > Subject: Re: frustrated with hc...weight gain > > > So, Cheri, you had confirmed LOW cortisol and you gained weight on HC? Guest guest
Well, if you think about it, it makes sense. Most people are not going to even be looking for something like this group until they get desparate, unless someone they know refers them here. Even people with problems that respond to " normal " treatment avenues aren't going to be here. They will take their synthroid and feel better and go on with their lives. Typically, it isn't until you get to a point where you are desparate becasue you can't get anyone to listen and you keep feeling worse and worse that people strike out on their own looking for answers and solutions they aren't getting through the medical establishment. So it makes perfect sense to me for everyone posting on this list to have abnormal cortisol labs. Personally, I went through all the approved channels and kept getting worse. When I started doing research on my own, I started with thyroid stuff which led me here. When I looked at the adrenal fatigue symptoms, I realized that my symptoms fit that almost perfectly. There were things that were symptoms that I didn't even realize WERE sypmtoms. That is when I knew I HAD to get my cortisol levels checked. But I pretty much knew something was wrong with them anyway. The saliva test was more of a confirmation for me.
