Generally speaking potatoes and carrots (cooked) are high glycemic foods.

However, the the example you gave for your daily diet seemed to consist of

very few carbohydrate food. Even with some high glycemic carbos or even low

glycemic carbos, if your overall carb count for the day is low --60 grams or

fewer, you might effectively be on a low carb diet which might be the reason

you're losing weight. Low carb diets generally don't permit starchy food, or

too many of them, because the aim is keep carbos as a percentage of the daily

calories low. That means if the diet is aiming to keep carbo levels below 75

grams, one could indeed have some bread or potatoes, just not very much of

them. Calculate the amount of carbos in grams that you've been taking in --

some authors say that as much as 75 grams a day or less can lead to weight

loss -- depends on exercise and other factors. On the other hand, the pyramid

suggests about 400 rams of carbos based on a 2000 calories a day diet. So

what is considered low carbs is somewhat relative.
