Guest guest
Hi Dawn, Rapid weight loss is very often the cause of an onset of gallbladder problems. The reason: as you lose weight, the toxins that were stored in the body fat are so quickly released that your liver can not cleanse it . With the bombardment of these toxins, your liver goes into overload and then isn't properly functioning. This in turn leads to formation of gallstones. -Another reason to pay attention to the liver when addressing a gallstone issue. ~Suzanne ? Guest guest
Sue, Hi My name is Jill and I am new to this group and to any group of that matter. You stated to be wise in food choices. What reconmendations do you have on food? I am trying now to get a good routine down with food. It is so hard because up until two years ago I ate whatever and whenever I wanted and still try to do that and it doesn't work. Also I am not sure in your area if this become popular but this dirnk called MONAVIE. Heard anything about it? Oprah had a show on it as well. Suppose to be really good????? I can't find someone that has used it in length. Thanks for listening and good luck to you as well. Jill Sue <marysue@...> wrote: Congratulations, Tracie, on the weight loss. I don't know how fast is too fast, though. But if you're worrying about getting proper nutrients, why don't you take a multi-vitamin? And make sure that your food choices are nutritious ones. Guest guest
I'm not a nutritionist, but I would say to eat lots of fruits and veggies, especially colorful ones. Limit junk food, fat (except the good fat), and sugary foods. Since I'm diabetic, I have to limit carbs, but I think that the average American diet contains way too many carbs. It's a shock to walk through the grocery store and read labels. Some say that nightshade vegetables, including tomatoes, are bad for those with RA, but I haven't noticed any correlation there with me. This summer I will eat a ton of grape and cherry tomatoes, starting just as soon as the vines in the garden start producing. I also think that it's important to practice portion control. I try not to stuff myself at a meal until I feel like a stuffed turkey, even if the food is incredibly good. I haven't heard of this drink called Monavie, so can't comment on that.
