Guest guest
Dee, You are such a good person. Your posts have been so encouraging to me. You have such a way with words. I admit that I have worried about my binges with sweets. In fact it seems I am on a continuous one right now. Waiting for my insurance company to make up their mind is making me crazy. I am so anxious to have the MGB. I want a life that does not involve fighting with food and the resulting guilt trips because the food always wins. LOL I could not have said better how I've been dealing with all this!! Trust me, you are not alone and feel free to talk about it (on or off list). I believe that many of the post-ops have been through it to. We'll make it through it and then be free of binging forever! I just keep hanging on to the verse below and I know it wil all work out...even if I have gone waaaayyyyy overboard raiding the kitchen lately. {{HUGS}} in FL MGB Hopeful BMI 51 " He who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it until the day of Christ Jesus. Thought I'd read everything but guess not....Where in Michigan are you? >> Debbie, go to Dr. R's website and use the " Search " area. Look for hormone(s), carbohydrates, food cravings, etc. I'm in the U.P. on Lake Superior. Dee in MI (16 Dec 99)

Someone said it right a long time ago: We eat to live instead of living to eat. While you're getting ready for your MGB, try to load up on nutrient-dense foods that will help your body recover and heal after the surgery. Take double and triple the vitamins/minerals and try to get as much " good for you " food and juice into yourself as you can. You'll recover much more quickly. If you believe in supplements, do that as well. While you're waiting, decide which juices (100% fruit and veggie) you'll want to drink aft erward and stock up on those. Try out the different bouillions and find the flavors/brands that you like; stock up on those. Try out the different yogurt flavors for nonfat yogurt...write those down for buying after you're home. Get yourself a couple of bottles of Children's Liquid Motrin stored away...we use that instead of ANYthing else off the shelf for pain relief after the MGB. If you don't have a cheerful bathrobe, shop for one. You'll like having it in the hospital while you're running up and down the hallways after surgery. Basically, sweetie, do all the little things to prepare for your MGB that you don't normally give yourself time to do. This is an exciting adventure! Dee in MI.
