I am not convinced that phytates cannot be broken down in our digestive

tracks. Many animals live on mostly grains, and while some of them have

multiple stomachs for fermenting plant food, others, such as birds, don't.

Bacteria that we (or maybe only other animals?) have are said to be able and

responsible for breaking down the phytates.
