Guest guest
, Not knowing your age, this may be moot point, but I'm wondering of you could have had a mild, undiagnosed case of polio as a child? Those of us who were born before 1955 (year of Salk vaccine) definitely fall into this category. I was diagnosed and in the hospital, but research is finding out that the large number of cases of CFS ME, Fibromyalgia, appeared in the mid 80s, about 30 years aftrr the polio epidemics. Some think that all many of these diagnoses could in fact be post-polio syndrome. If a child had flu like symptoms but didn't get diagnosed it could have been a light case of polio. If this describes you, I would suggest a good book by Dr. Bruno, The Polio Paradox. Theatment for PPS and CFS are similar. Do your muscles improve with rest? That is how I live, " conserve to preserve " the muscle mass I have left. Of course, you need to be sure it isn't hypoT, anemia, or MS. Post polio Syndrome is a diagnosis of exclusion. HypoT question Since these awful symptoms are fairly new, I am looking for some validation that this is definitely hypoT. I am experiencing profound muscle weakness and can barely open a simply jar. My hands and fingers almost feel to weak to type. I am also fighting to stay awake all day. It seems that if I don't keep moving I would just sleep all day long. The muscle weakness is what seems to be the scariest. It's both in my arms and my legs. I almost feel like someone who might have MS or something if I didn't know that hypoT can do this. Guest guest
Yes, most definitely. That's why there are so many people misdiagnosed with MS and fibromyalgia Lynda HypoT question > Since these awful symptoms are fairly new, I am looking for some > validation that this is definitely hypoT.
