Guest guest
I was reading my old files and I had low ferritin and high iron in my blood tests. Then I read an article that said it could be due to the iron building up in the blood but not being used by the cells and that is actually a dangerous condition. I was tested for hemochromatosis. I also had read an article years ago that prolonged high iron actually caused anemia. It was talking about Vitamin C and other things helping absorption of iron then too much created a block in the cells and then no iron got in and a person became anemic or something to that effect. If I can find that info on my old computer I will post it. I think I still have this problem with iron not getting into the cells like I needs to. You might want to Google what types of things would inhibit iron from being utilized by the cells when taking large doses. Cheri -----Original Message----- Thanks Val, Would you believe it was 36 in September and I've been taling 300mg of iron a day? Something isn't right for it to be lower.. I hope you 're right that this is the cause of my high HR. So, 20mg is enough HC? Thanks as always,
Guest guest
The biggest thing I see wrong on your labs is the Ferriitin. It needs to be between 70-90 to be able to utilize thyroid properly. I am not sure if that would affect your heart rate but it could. I woul dbe workign on taking some iron (150-200mg elemental iron daily) to bring those levels up. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
Well, that is a good thing then if your serum iron is low too so you know it is an overall iron issue and not the paradox I deal with. Yes, Vitamin C would be good to take at the same time you take iron because it helps a lot with absorption. Even eating Vitamin C foods around the time you take it will help. There are also supplements that help with absorption. I don't remember the ingredients but I bet you can find it at a Vitacost or Google a source. Cheri -----Original Message----- Hi, Ms. Squarepants, My iron is low too, though. Do I need more vitamin C? .

Guest guest
I can't understand it. I take iron with fresh squeezed OJ and I've increased my vitamin C to 1500mg a day. I'm not a good googler, never know who to believe in some of those links.
