My mom did the same thing, when I asked her why she said " its not a big

deal " ....... I guess to her it wasnt.

I'm with you ...I don't care who knows about the surgery and if they

have any questions I will anwser them and tell them all about it. As for

this being the easy way out all I have to say is some people dont have a

clue. We changed our bodies but we still have to deal with the head

hunger..

It's a big deal to family because they have watched you be miserable all this

time. They look forward to watching us find happiness. My family told everyone.

They were excited for me.

I work in an environment (Marine Corps civilian employee) where people think you

just have to have the discipline to exercise and eat right. Many of them would

have the perception that I took the easy way out because I am young (30), had no

health issues other than a sore back, and I still had the ability to walk. Even

though it shouldn't, their perceptions could affect my progression within the

organization. Many people think if you are fat then you are lazy and not a good

worker, which all of us here know that is not true. However, since I knew what

the perceptions were ahead of time, I chose to be discrete with the people I

work with.

I am proud of myself and I have no problem sharing with my family, friends, and

church. And, not one of them has had a negative comment. They are all

supportive.

Does your boss not know it's illegal for him/her to discuss his

employees like that? They can't disclose that info to anyone!
