When you get mad you really let it out don't you? Good thoughts though, and very informative! Wayne and I are impressed! By the way - I see you sent this to the native nutrition list also - but it never arrived. Part of your address was missing - it should be you missed the word groups in there. Please try again - I think the people there would love to read this! I find Mr. Leitzkes memory very selective when it comes to the issues concerning the Memorandums of Understanding(MOU) he personally spent 6 months revising to set up the first farm that ran the program that HE devised to offer cow shares to people who want the CHOICE to drink raw milk. I also find it interesting that Stienhoff who butchered the original MOU from Leitzke to serve Clearview Acres clients as the 2nd MOU farm has not said a thing on how gapping holes were left in the MOU as for protocols, segregation and transfers of ownership requirements. I find it interesting that Carolyn Gallager has been very quite, She illegally gave out Clearview Acres printed material to OTHER farms interested in the MOU program without so much as an explanation to those farmers other than " call Clearview they will explain the program to you!! " I find it interesting that it was Clearview Acres who approached DATCP on introducing Safety Protocols, testing regimes, and controls over the program to insure the safety of the MOU program and its current and future clients. You decided to cancel the program. Now it has been implemented by all Milk Direct farms without Datcap's input. Does your lawyer Mr Marquart know of your actions prior to the Administrative Hearing Mr Leitzke?, probably not, if all the info he has is that he turned over to us, or should I say lack of information turned over to us! I agree most Grade A milk is not fit for direct consumption, the current standards only lend it to be made into cheese, or now UT pasteurization. We the Milk Direct farms all around the country adopted the raw milk standards of Pa And California, we test on a quarterly basis for 8 pathogens and do a milk wholesomeness test biweekly. Our levels of plate count scc and coliform as well as pi are as follow in order, under 10,000(program farm average 3000) under 200,000,(program farm average 135,000) coliform under 10, PI under 50,000. Whats your Wi grade A standards for milk Mr Lietzke? As for our so call Raw Milk Campylobacter outbreak that supposedly originated from this farm, Where is the proof!! You say you have documents and tests that prove that you can link that outbreak to this farm , Where is it? Where is the epodemiology report due on the 4th of Jan that still has yet to be released? Where is the COMPLETE documentation that you Mr Lietzke, Stienhoff and Ms Gallager were ordered to turn over to us and our lawyers by the administrative law judge on the 12th of February. I do not consider the incomplete stack of un unauthorized documents delivered in a rubber band to my lawyer office as a true representation of that you were ordered to turn over. I find it interesting that Mr. food safety doesn't even know how many people we were charged with getting sick in the Hayward area. Mr Leitzke says 5, His report 3 months ago said 24, we called our clients and found 8 that tested positive and 355 that didn't even get sick. Of all the clients and family members who showed symptoms (24) and not all family member who drank milk became sick, we narrowed down the contamination source to several GROUND BEEF dinners at a local restaurant all eaten within a 4 day period, by the 8 people in question 4 to 8 days prior to our little towns outbreak. I find it interesting that you did not, nor did you bother to even look any further than our farm or interview those who got sick other than to badger those who claimed not to drink milk from our farm when they went to the doctor for help! Infact another 35 people who were treated in your time frame of involvement were not identified as to where THEY got sick I find it interesting that after you had sufficient numbers to issue your special order to stop our clients from exercising there constitutional rights of ownership, you abandoned the local health service even though new cases of Illness CONTINUED to be treated 6 WEEKS after our milk was banned from our clients, and none of those people have even been to our farm.(and don't give me that secondary exposure crap either, these people don't even come into contact with those who were sick to begin with!) And did you bother to call surrounding are Hospitals to see if there were other cases of this type of illness during the same time frame? We did, 4 area hospitals reported treating the same illness in the same time frame as our little towns outbreak. We don't serve those area's. Were those hospital warned of a possible campylobactor outbreak? I would guess not, You wouldn't do more testing on our milk either because you " might compromise your original findings " !(direct quote of your lawyer, Mr Marquart) Did you know those towns those hospitals serve, are served by the same food service company as our town is? If your sole purpose at Datcp to protect the public from food borne illness you better take a look at the true cause of those illnesses in its country! 80 million people a year Mr. Leitzke get sick from food in this country alone! FDA considers 5% of All raw milk produced in the US to be contaminated with 1 of a possible 8 pathogens. FDA considers 50% of all chicken 74% of all turkey(down from 91% 2 years ago) contaminated with Campylobacter ALONE! 37% of beef contaminated with E-coli.produced in the US. We consider DATCPS food safety division contaminated with large Agribusiness concerns, and if anyone thinks this Task Force on food safety( which we were not ask to be involved in even though we the Milk Direct farms represent 1400 people in Wi alone) is going to effect change on the safety of your food! Get real. It will only compromise your choices and eventually your health, and the death nail of the small producer in Wisconsin. Mr. Leitzke And Datcp Food Safety Division concerned about food safety? Doesn't look like it from here. Tim Wightman Milk Direct Program Hayward Wi. info@...
