Guest guest
Hi, all. There is a new supervisor at DHEC who thinks all raw milk sales in SC should be banned. Fortunately, the field agent is more sympathetic and SC law specifically allows raw milk dairies. Our farmer just called me and told me he was visited by the DHEC field agent today and was told not to sell any more raw milk until the milking parlor is built. The farmer took his 3 cows over to another dairy to be milked until he can meet state requirements for certification. I'm going to pick up some of the last milk he has. Boo hoo. The good news is a man who owns a certified raw goat milk dairy here is able to build the milking parlor for the cow dairy. Since he knows all the requirements, it should go smoothly. That's it. I'll let you know if/when our raw milk supply is up and running again. ine
