Luckily, mine went through on the first try. It was the first in a string of happenings that have finally gone right for me, and I feel blessed. To the person asking for anyone who had to appeal to Kaiser, I know that (APEXKAS@...) won on her 3rd appeal and is over a year post op now. Please write to her personally, as she is very busy and sometimes doesn't get a chance to read all post. She is a sweetheart and I'm sure she may have some pointers. Good luck to you! in Raleigh MGB 11/22/99 pre-op 270 1/10/00

Guest guest
Hey Lu, Tammy Fee here. Any one can quit anything if they really want to. I have proven it.... I was addicted to Pepsi, That's right Pepsi. I would drink at least 8-10 cans a day and just this week I quit. I will admit that I was addicted to it. I would start drinking it when I woke and wouldn't stop until I went to bed. Talk about useless calories. I consumed my recommended daily calories alone in Pepsi. I now drink water. Lots of it. 2 liters at work and then more at night. I am trying to loose weight and I feel I am headed in the right direction. Any one can quit anything if they put there minds to it. Take it one day at a time. 3 days free of Pepsi. Guest guest
Tammy I agree with you. I used to be caffine addicted too. I would start off with coffee in the morning then move to pepsi in the afternoon and then back to coffee in the evening and in between I would eat chocolate. Sounds great huh. Then one day a doctor told me I had to go off of all caffine. Boy talk about withdrawls. Headaches and all the rest. It's been 8 years now. I drink decaf ( doesnt have the same kick) and chocolate moderately, no sodas. It can be done. I was never a heavy drinker, but did enjoy a social drink once in a while. Well they took that away too. 7 years ago because of my meds. There are occassions when I wish I could have a glass of wine. Great serman huh. Well, I'm still smoking and I know in my heart I shouldn't. I don't smoke in my house, I go outside. and I smoke in my car. (those are about the only places you can smoke in California) I guess I do use it as a crutch. Some day I will get the power to stop. Guest guest
, You can do. I am needing to get rid of empty calories more than caffeine. Actually the caffeine helped keep me going. I have been really tired this week without it. I do drink two glasses of tea at night. Eventually I may stop that too. I would encourage anyone who is addicted to anything just to try and quit and just take it one day at a time. 4 days Pepsi free and still counting.
