Guest guest
In the early stages of adrenal fatigue, DHEA goes high as the adrenals are struggling and working too hard. The more exhausted they become, the lower the DHEA then drops. Optimum healthy levels of DHEA should be around 300 per blood test for a female, as the lower it gets, the closer it is revealing adrenal exhaustion. In my case, I had to go on replacement hydrocortisone due to adrenal insufficiency and my DHEA levels per blood now are a sad 38. I want to bring the DHEA up as I know it's an important hormone but I've always had adverse reactions to taking oral DHEA. Now that I know I'm really hypo, I think this has contributed to my high sensitivities and reactions to standard meds/hormones, etc. Once I get my thyroid optimized, I'm going to start DHEA cream (which my holistic gyno just prescribed) I just got it today from the compounding pharmacy and I am going to try to get my levels up to 300 because I think overall it will help in possibly healing my adrenals one day and being able to come off HC. DHEA ? Val, My dhea level is 111 and my adrenals are fatigues . It was much lower a couple months back.Just startd HC this week. You mentioned dhea levels rise above normal when adrenals are fatigued. I am confused now. Thanks, a
