Guest guest
Hi Valarie, you mentioned head injuries and whiplashes can affect pituitary. What determines whether it's pitituary or not? I've had both. Thank's Pat Re: can low cortisol really result in high estrogen? I am not sure but there seem to be many causes of pituitary failure notthe lest of which is just plain hypo. In some people it is not so much failure as a down regulation of it, which could be possible in your case. Also ANY kind of whiplash or head injury or losing too much blood can also damage it form what I have read. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ No virus found in this incoming message. Guest guest
This is why an ACTHStim test is helpful. It will tell the difference in adrenal or pituitary probelms with low cortiosl. You can also test LH nd FSH to get a pretty good picture. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
Can LH and FSH be tested while taking HC? I've got a doc's order here that I can write it in on before I get my labs done next week. I think that I can even call and ask and his nurse will tell me to go ahead. She was willing to put anything I wanted on there when I was there. We did the ACTH stim test months ago and it seemed to indicate primary AF, but I wouldn't mind more info. > > This is why an ACTHStim test is helpful. Guest guest
But, even if it discovered the low coritsol is pituitary in origin, would not the solution be more HC? wrote: This is why an ACTHStim test is helpful. Guest guest
Yes but knowing if it pituitary or not tells you alot about how much you will need and if you need to take other hormones as well. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/

Guest guest
Val, What part of the range should LH and FSH be in? Mine are both in the very lowest part of the ranges. What would that tell me? Darla > > This is why an ACTHStim test is helpful. It will tell the difference in > > adrenal or pituitary probelms with low cortiosl. Guest guest
No cycles here anymore Val. Could this be why all hormones are very low? Do you know of a good hypopituitary group? Thanks for the links. Darla > > >>What part of the range should LH and FSH be in? Guest guest
>>No cycles here anymore Val. Could this be why all hormones are very low? << There is stil a correct range for hormones even post menopause. Are oyu lower tyhan THOSE ranges? If so you have a problem and should be supplementing. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
I am supplimenting Estrogen, DHEA, Aldosterone, Thyroid and Cortisol. I am also low in Progesterone, but could not tolorate it. LH and FSH as well as the above hormones are at lowest or below post menopausal ranges. I was just wondering if hypopituitary could be the reason these are all so low. If it is pituitary what would the treatment be? Darla > > >>No cycles here anymore Val. The only other treatment might be Grpowth Hormone. Have you had that checked as well as Testosterone? -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
Testosterone was in the lower 1/4 of the range. Low as it was it was the higest hormone I had. No, I have not had GH tested. I will see if I can get a doc to do that. I asked for renin with aldosterone and she did not run renin. <sigh> Thanks for the reply Val.
