Dennis Hi Dennis: Since this dairy farmer has drastically lowered his output of milk per cow in order to produce nutrition, I would value his opinion as to why he chose this breed as opposed to others and I would value his opinion on whether the breed has been improved or ruined in that respect by crossbreeding. The farmer has read both Price and Pottenger and has been greatly affected by reading their works. What is your experience in crossbreeding cows with respect to maximizing the nutritional value of milk they produce, rather than the quantity of milk they produce? Do you have evidence that crossing the Canadienne with Brown Swiss has improved the breed? Chi
