Guest guest
I had lyme, and I had to push through with MP. The LDN is great, but will not kill the lyme. Will help symptoms. I'm now negative on the Igenex lyme test, was positive, many tests before MP. The MP was hard for 6 months, but I was up to full doses in 3 months. I pushed hard, and after 6 months became much easier. But, everyone is different. And I did alot of other treatments, before MP. From: low dose naltrexone on behalf of My-StitchesSent: Fri 10/23/2009 1:25 PMlow dose naltrexone Subject: [low dose naltrexone] Re:Vit D The Marshall Protocol is very very different and if you are doing that you pretty much have to follow their rules. I tried for nearly a year but could never get either the Benicar or Minocyline up to therapeutic doses so my doctor finally said to give up. And once I quit that, he said we would go back to regular recommendations for health, which includes sufficient vitamin D. I'm new this month on LDN, 3 months on SCD, and I have to say I feel much better this was than on MP. With CFS as part of my problems, I spend a huge share of my time succumbing to viral things and I have to say that taking vit D has helped. Do I still have the mycoplasma that MP treats? Very likely. Maybe after SCD and LDN improve things for me, either they will help with that, too, or I'll be strong enough to try MP again. I am new to this group. Have been on LDN for three months with no decrease in pain or fatigue. Vitamin D suppliments have been recommended several times, but in the Marshal Protocal it says to avoid all Vit D. I am confused.

Guest guest
There is also some research that indicates that taking vitamin D may actually exacerbate autoimmune diseases (claiming it's low for the reason that the body will lower it to fight the disease..if there is an infection involved). Those on the marshal protocol actually avoid vit d and foods containing it. Just an FYI. >>>>>I HAVE BEEN READY SO MUCH ON THE VIT D ASPECT AND HOW WELL IT WILL HELP US BE. Guest guest
I'm on another board where some folks have done the Marshall Protocol and have posted their regrets for going that route. Now working on undoing the damage done by MP. just an fyi [low dose naltrexone] Re: VIT D There is also some research that indicates that taking vitamin D may actually exacerbate autoimmune diseases (claiming it's low for the reason that the body will lower it to fight the disease..if there is an infection involved). Guest guest
Wondering what this group's thoughts are on Vitamin D? Do you take it? If so in what form and how much? My arthritis always gets much worse every fall/winter so wondering re the D issue. There is a protocol called the Marshall Protocol that says that D is a seco-steroid so that people with illnesses caused by bacteria like mycoplasma feel better at first when taking it but b/c it's a steroid they later feel worse as it suppresses immune system and allows bacteria to flourish. So not sure if I should take it or not? Thanks
Guest guest
, I take 1000 mgm almost daily. I'm wondering if that is the reason they suggest taking D2..or not. I have not noticed anything when taking it except it used to uspset my stomach and now I take D dots and whether they are OK to take or not they do not bother my stomach. My doctor actually wants me to take at least 2000mgms but I gotta draw the line somewhere (giggle). cooky Wondering what this group's thoughts are on Vitamin D? Do you take it? Guest guest
I have read an article recently. According to the the new published research 2000 IU of vit 3 daily is the optimum dose. I have pain and most times swelling on top of my feet around the ankle and bottom of my feet close to inner edge. some times the pain is so severe that makes me cry and unable to walk. My Dr. (RHUMY) prescribe D3 50000 IU per week along with 1000 IU of  D3 daily. I have not started on 50000 IU yet. The other thing my Dr said it was the best vit D3 can be bought from CVS pharmacy.    From: Cooky Stonkey <cookee1@...> Subject: RE: rheumatic Vit D rheumatic Date: Saturday, December 19, 2009, 2:41 PM  , I take 1000 mgm almost daily. Guest guest
I started taking Vit D3 last year at 2000mg, then i increased to 5000mg. I have been on it for 10 mos and did not notice my RA getting worse at all. I started on a littler white pill that was hard for me to swallow, then i found the 5000mg in a oil capsule which goes down very nicely. kathy

Guest guest
Early on in my diagnoses of DM my rheumie prescribed 50,000 iu of Vit D3 per week because I was on high doses of prednisone. At least that was her reasoning for such a high dose. Carol_DM
