Guest guest
, Bill did his usual wonderful job of giving you some great info. In terms of voice, check on the sites Bill listed under " speech and swallowing " and the Lee Silverman exercises. Rose ----Original Message Follows---- From: pfenton400@... I'm living in England and my wife, Elna, has MSA (diagnosed about 4 years ago). Elna is coping quite well but has increasing problems with: swallowing, speech and general mobility. She is still walking but increasingly slowly. Her health is OK but she is losing weight due to the eating problems and tends to suffer from UTI. There seems to be little specialist help over here in terms of support and she only gets to see a specialist (a different doctor each time) every six months. There is no monitoring of weight, blood pressure, severity of symtoms etc. Each visit seems to be a general chat with some small alteration of her Parkinsons-type drugs routine. Reading some past messages, I'm interested to see notes about voice amplifaction etc. since this is sometimes a real problem. I went to the 'chat-room' but nobody was there at the time. Cheers.
