Guest guest
Bill Is it possible that she isn't getting her full fluid amount and is worn down by the end of the day and then better as she goes through the night with her PEG tube re-hydrating? Just a thought and one I'm sure you have already thought of. Or is she getting too much stimulation and it's wearing her down. Just trying to think out loud here. If the tests are coming back ok, something must be triggering it, but what? Is she allergic to anything they are using on her in the hospital. Are they using a cath on her? Is she coming in contact with someone or something that is different than at home? What about the air quality? Hospitals are terribly dry? Are they using enough moisture for her to breathe. That might be what is drying her out and she isn't getting enough water by late afternoon and is feeling it by then. Just some of my thoughts, Bill. I'm sure you have already thought about all of them. Give Charlotte my love Sally
Guest guest
Sally, She has been on an IV since the paramedics picked her up Tuesday morning about 3 AM. Everyones temperature seems to go up about 5 PM if they are sick - I remember the kids always did. No, they are bubbling the oxygen through water and she gets 4 breathing therapies per day. The pneumonia seems to be clearing slowly. She has our GP, a kidney doctor, an infection specialist, a neuro and a pneumonia specialist looking at her daily. In fact I ran into my cardiologist in the ICU and he went in and saw her for free. She still has some congestion in the lungs and still has infection in the urine - but they both seem to be going away. Her G-tube came out during the night, so we are scrambling to find someone to replace it now. Oops, they also put her on a mattress which is hooked to a refridgerator, that usually brings her temperature down within two hours. She is getting the best possible care - two patients per nurse. And someone from the family is there all visiting hours 10:30 AM - 6:30 PM and 8-9PM. The nurses have been completely cooperative in taking my suggestions - everyone of them. If she does not make it, it will be God's will. Take care, Bill and Charlotte ==================================== Sally Lesline wrote: > Bill > Is it possible that she isn't getting her full fluid amount and is worn > down by the end of the day and then better as she goes through the night > with her PEG tube re-hydrating?
