yet another temp question...

What is too high of an avg. temp? Mine has averages 99.1 the last couple of

days, but I don't feel hot or anything. I'm sure I need several more days to

have a true pattern, but it seems to be a bit higher in the afternoon when I

take it and then goes down later in the evening. I'm taking it at 3, 6, &

9pm. Is this too high of an average if it continues? I can only remember

posts about the average temp being stable, not it being under a certain

temp....

On the other hand my basal temp. is now lower than it was before I started

the HC. It was hovering around 97.6 ax. and now it is averaging around 97.2.

I'm assuming this may be because I'm having more hypo thyroid stuff now that

I'm on the HC and not on thyroid yet.

Thanks!

Cherie

Are you using a digital thermometer? Those tend to be inaccurate.

Morning basal should be between 97.8-98.2 and daily average goal is

98.6.

Nope, I got one of the new non-mercury ones. So if my average temp. stays

close to 99, should I lower my HC dose?

TSH .861 range .35-5.5

FT4 1.39 range .61-1.76

FT3 3.2 range 2.3-4.2

RT3 165 range 90-350

HMM I am wondering if with that high RT3 if your body wasn;t able to use the

thyroid you were making and you actuially may not need thyroid or much at all

when all is said & done.

Not yet. My labs always came out " normal " , so I wasn't on anything yet. My

new doctor wants me to be on the HC for a bit before he checks my thyroid

again. My last thyroid levels were taken December 5th and were:

TSH .861 range .35-5.5

FT4 1.39 range .61-1.76

FT3 3.2 range 2.3-4.2

RT3 165 range 90-350

My basal temps in the morning are abou .4 degrees lower since starting the

HC. I just wasn't sure if I should worry about my temps. hovering around 99

or above. I don't feel sick or anything. I'm sleeping better than I was

before. In fact I didn't realize how poorly I was sleeping until I started

sleeping deeper. So far today, my temps have been 99.0 and 99.1. I'll take

my 3rd reading in an hour.

I hadn't thought of that, but at least he's willing to retest the levels

again once I've gotten stabalized on the HC. :-)
