Guest guest
No, I only did Wiley Protocol (WP) 4 months (Feb-May 07). The pregnancy high amounts of Wiley Protocol (WP) progesterone suppress the immune system http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez?cmd=Retrieve & db+PubMed & list_uids+123073\ 01 & dopt+Abstract (all my allergies worsened) and that and the high estradial (like a 20 year olds) have a devastating effect on the endocrine system when you are post menopausal. Prior to WP, I had used Prometrium (drug company natural progesterone) 200-300mg daily for an estimated 12-14 years. Then I used compounded progesterone cream for a time as well. I had developed severe food allergies plus low of low estrogen symptoms. My mainstream Dr did not feel comfortable increasing my 2mg of estrogen. My body was crying out for more estrogen and that lead me to WP. I learned that even though progesterone has a VERY short half life, when you take large amounts it can be stored in body fat and secreted slowly over time. http://www.reproduction-online.org/cgi/content/abstract/69/1/73 Dr Formby who moderates the rhythmicliving group says too much progesterone can effect other types of steriod hormone receptors and block their function and that progesterone has an affinity for the aldosterone receptor. I also read that such huge doses of progesterone and estrogen are like a nuclear blast to the endocrine system. I have certainly felt some bad effects as I have brought my estradial down from about 30mg daily last July to 5mg daily now. It has been HARD (lots of low estrogen symptoms) but I am determined. Plus I am on 27mg HC and have ordered Florinef (will try a VERY small dose). The last previous bloodwork I could find showed my TSH .68 in 2005 and my free T3 was 3.6. It didn't show my T4. This is probably more than you wanted to know. But, maybe this will help someone. I hope. There is hope. I'm actually feeling good most of the time (still those low E heart palps and chest weightiness off and on). Guest guest
Wow, Delores, that's a lot of progesterone. Why were you on Prometrium for so long?
