Guest guest
I am having the same problem. Just call me Ms. Fatty. I am on Isocort and HC cream and have gained nearly 20 pounds in 3 months since starting it. I was actually slowly losing weight before then and had taken 10 lbs off slowly over the summer. Nothing else in my regime has changed so I know it is related to the cortisol supplementation causing the weight gain. I am not sure if this is because it has caused me to become more hypo or not but while at first I didn't worry about it, now it is getting ridiculous since I really couldn't afford to gain more. This is the heaviest I have ever been and nothing is fitting anymore. My problem is I am at stage 7 so I really have no choice other than to supplement with cortisol. Cheri frustrated with hc I am getting fat as heck on these danged cortef. This is not right. Somebody tell me why we are using this stuff, please. I am not convinced that there are not other homeopathic alternatives to this crap. Seems to me that Almighty God put natural products in our reach that do not cause harm the way this stuff does. Do any of you have some alternatives and would you write to me please if so? Another thing: I have been ramping too slowly I am sure. I do not understand the temperatures thing. I am taking them as regularly as is humanly possible here. What are they supposed to reveal exactly? When they reach a certain temperature, you say? And what else should I look for? Some patient person please reply. A brief and curt " go here " is not what I need right now. Happy New Year to All, Thank you, Jaydee . Guest guest
i am also gaining weight at stage 7 --taking isocort,20 mg for 5 years, recently increasing-- I was wondering what the cause would be.I wonder if I am using all the cortisol I am taking from outside and whenever my adrenals get some rest, still producing excess cortisol due to excessive pituitary push(CFS) and there is continuously high cortisol in my body.this might happen because our dosages are low not to cause acth suppression and allow adrenals to heal or it could be that isocort or hc does not give the necessary pituitary regulation.in latter I am thinking I might need another remedy like seriphos or other adaptogens to control pituitary. any thoughts on this?this is very important for me. thanks. bw Nil RE: frustrated with hc...weight gain I am having the same problem. Guest guest
Count me in the same boat. I have gained at least 10-12 pounds, which I didn't need on top of the extra I already had. I too think this is due to the HC as though I've been quite overweight for many years, my weight was stable. Clothes from 10 years ago still fit me. Now they don't, I hate to give in and buy larger clothes. sol MsSquarepants wrote: > I am having the same problem. Guest guest
So, Cheri, you had confirmed LOW cortisol and you gained weight on HC? I have, too, and I thought maybe it was because I was high cortisol (I never had labs done). I thought the only reason you would gain weight on HC would be due to taking too much. I am only at 27.5 but I have gained weight around my abdomen and I also have a " buffalo hump " . Kim frustrated with hc I am getting fat as heck on these danged cortef. This is not right. Guest guest
>>I didn't worry about it at first, but now I am up to 30 lbs in 3 months and I am eating very healthy and around 1800 calories.<< Unless you are quite active you should not be eating 1800 calories! What is recomended by better diet protocols is about 1200 for a normal fairly sedentary person.. which most of us fall into! LOL Personally if I eat over 1000 a day I gain liek crazy but my metabolism is really bad STILL. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
And, I'm headed the other direction - I've lost 12 - 13 pounds in two months and I have my wife and her MIL all worried about it which is stressing me out. I'm only on 1 5/8 grains of Armour and struggling to get my dose up to something really useful, but I guess that it could be the Armour that has accounted for the weight loss. I haven't exercised in months so it certainly isn't because of that, although I have been trying to lose 5-7 pounds for the last 5 years at least by eating less and exercising like crazy. Now I have to eat all of the time and can't exercise at all and the weight comes off. Go figure. I guess that I should attribute it to a healthier metabolism and consider it to be progress and I will. If I could just the adrenals supported enough to be able to get my Armour dose up where it needs to be. Cheri is helping me get my GI in better shape so that I absorb the HC better, etc. Who knew when I read about dumping Synthroid for Armour what I was in for. I guess that a lot of us can say the same. I hope that we all start shrinking or growing, as appropriate, to our proper sizes > > I am having the same problem. Guest guest
It's a pad of fat at the top of the spine. It kind of makes you look like you have scoliosis or something. Guest guest
I sure hope these labs are accurate and legit. it seems like not anyone ever comes out with a normal cortisol lab > > So, Cheri, you had confirmed LOW cortisol and you gained weight on HC? Guest guest
Do we want to take adrenal support (adrenal cortex etc.) along with our HC? Isn't this duplicating? No? If not, I need to get with the program. > > I am having the same problem. Just call me Ms. Fatty. > > I am on Isocort and HC cream and have gained nearly 20 pounds in 3 months > since starting it.
