Guest guest
Hi Ladies, I was diagnosed with Scleroderma, MCTD & R/A in 2005. Scleroderma had caused pulmonary fibrosis so badly that I was told I was terminal and that I had about 5 months left, but that they could keep me comfortable with steroids and chemotherapy. They had a whole list of medications they were going to start me on to aleve some of the symptoms. But inevidently, I would be dead soon. These were 4 specialists, a rheumatologist, a pulmonologist and their partners. I was given no hope whatsoever.  My docs said my condition was terminal. They said there was no cure. I already had been hospitalized & was bedridden for 8 months. I had lost 40 lbs and couldn't walk to the bathroom. To turn over in bed was agony. My husband & I were devastated! With tears streaming down my face, I shakily made my way to the computer that evening and wrote the saddest post to the scleroderma foundation asking for help. None came forward. But a sweet angel who usually posts on this site and the roadback site, just happened to be browsing and saw my post. She wrote to me and introduced me to the Antibiotic Protocol. I was dying and I had nothing to lose. She told me she had been diagnosed with scleroderma 10 years before and that she was in remission. Oh! how badly I wanted to be her. She told me about some books. One was the Road Back by MacPherson Brown and " The New Arthritis Breakthrough " by Henry Scammell. The other book was " Scleroderma, the Proven Therapy that can save your life. "  I posted on the Roadback.org site and was given the name of a rheumatologist the believes in A/P. He is the chief of Rheumatology at Harvard School of Medicine and Professor of Rheumatology. I made the appointment for three weeks. In the meantime, I had read the books and was ready. I understood that these diseases are of Infectious Origin and not autoimmune. The body does not attack itself. We don't eat our young. This is not a normal function. I was tested and proved postitive for micoplasma pneumonae. That is what was killing me and the antibiotics were going to cure me. My ANA was 640 & speckled. My RF was close to 100 and my lungs were so sclerosed, I had difficulty breathing in bed. I was put on Minocin 100mg twice a day. Fast forward, 2010. It's been a hell of a ride, but I recently achieved remission. My ANA is 0. My RF is 0.  My chest xrays are normal. I am no longer underweight, not anemic. I have no symptoms whatsoever. I am so glad I did not touch those toxic drugs. You see, I found out that these docs who prescribed these drugs make money giving these drugs that keep one ill. Doctors and Big Pharma and in it together for the profits. They are not about to kill the goose that lays the golden egg. These drugs keep you sick and they keep making money on you. If you all want to live a normal life instead of a sick one with no hope, I beg of you all to not touch the methotrexate not even for six months. The longer you take the toxic drugs the harder it will be to go into remission. It's difficult to believe, but I have the medical records to prove my claim. I am perfectly normal today. Minocin is a drug in the tetracycline family. It has been given to teenagers for acne for more than 40 years and no teenager has ever died from it. My first cousin had Lupus. They gave him those drugs and he died a horrible death. Choose A/P and never look back. I did! I choose to remain of the maintenance dose of Minocin 100 mg MWF as I do not want to take the chance of being infected again. It is an infection and no one is immune. Hope you all choose the right path.  My best to all of you, Dolores From: nealnatemom <andtwo@...> Subject: rheumatic Re: antiobiotic therapy sub standard? rheumatic Date: Sunday, March 28, 2010, 7:29 PM  Mine said the same thing - very dismissive of any of my ideas concerning antibiotics, diet, etc. I was on Methotrexate for 5 weeks, currently trying other options - not antibiotics yet, but am very open to the possibility. Not trying to tell you what to do - I'm taking a leap of faith here; read a lot of bad stuff about methotrexate and being only 51 years old, I don't want to be on it long term. Still exploring my options. > > My RA doctor has put me on Methotrexate. I said I would try the Metho. for 6 months. Guest guest
You are very welcome! I hope you find a doctor who will administer the antibiotic. Get tested for all the micoplasmas that you can. It is an antibody count that your body manufactures. If you have no luck with rheumatologists, seek an infectious disease doctor. Once they find the source of infection, they can't refuse you the antibiotics. Insist on them. And fire any doctor who tells you antibiotics aren't proven. The world was once thought to be flat till proven that it was round. It was round all along and our diseases are of infectious origin. Sad to say that most of the money that is given for research goes to Big Pharma to develop more of these toxic drugs that suppress the immune system rather than finding a cause. They don't want to find a cure. There is no profit in that and they know it.~~~~~Take care and have a great remission when you get there. You will. You are on the right track. My best to all of you who are seeking and finding. Dolores From: nealnatemom <andtwo@...> Subject: rheumatic Re: antiobiotic therapy sub standard? rheumatic Date: Monday, March 29, 2010, 12:36 AM  Thank you so much for your story Dolores - very inspiring. I was on methotrexate for 5 weeks, off now for 3 weeks and won't go back. I canceled my last appointment with the rheumatologist and am looking for a doctor who is willing to prescribe either minocin or low dose naltrexone - like I said, exploring my options and what is best for my situation - I just know, deep within me, that methotrexate is not the answer! > > > > My RA doctor has put me on Methotrexate. Guest guest
Local grocery store - Publix - gives certain anitbiotics free for 14 day prescriptions - to get you in the store... Doxy is on the list and i just refill every 2 weeks instead of 30 days.  cathleen ________________________________ From: Kathy <sunbriar@...> rheumatic Sent: Mon, March 29, 2010 9:02:30 AM Subject: rheumatic Re: antiobiotic therapy sub standard?  Cathleen, How do you get antibiotics for free at the grocery store? Kathy , Do not take that doctors word as a final answer.I had a sudden and severe onset of RA after a upper respiratory infection. Years of going to docs and finally ending up on prednisone and methotrexate for two years with minimal improvement. I could function better but hated taking those meds. Finally found this incredible website. My doc wanted to start me on enbrel shots. I did not want to start on those and mentioned the AP protocol. She laughed at me and said my RA was too severe.Through the site I found an incredible Rheumotologist ( my 4th over the course of illness). I went in with very swollen wrists, ankles and hands. She listened to my history, had some concern about the stage of my RA but agreed with my idea on the onset /infection.Prescrib ed doxycycline - 100mg 2x's per day - in four days all my swelling was down.I could not believe it and neither could she! I could move and walk without thinking about every move I made!I feel better than I have in years and from barely being able to walk some days , I can actually chase my dog a bit! Instead of a toxic 15,000.00 per year drug, I now take a simple antibiotic that I get for free at the grocery store!! Hang in there. Keep looking.Trust your instincts. Try the antibiotics before the mthotrxateif you can. cathleen
Guest guest
I thought that free giveaway of antibiotics was only in Fl. That is where I got my Doxy, Bactrim and clindamycin every 14 days. You just need to give them the prescription and every 14 days, they give you the medication. It is a program put on by Publix. That is a major grocery store. I saw the ad in the papers when I lived there. I cut it out and the doc gave me the scripts. It's a fantastic program. Minocin was not included in the list. but antibiotics in general are very low in cost except for minocin. Doxy is a good substitute and is on the list of the Marshall Protocol. Now that I have moved to Puerto Rico, I don't see that ad and they don't have Publix here. But I will look into it. Antibiotic therapy is not substandard only low cost and very effective. That doctors brain was set on greed fast forward. Run from him or her. Dolores From: Cathleen Messina <catsmess@...> Subject: Re: rheumatic Re: antiobiotic therapy sub standard? rheumatic Date: Monday, March 29, 2010, 9:12 AM  Local grocery store - Publix - gives certain anitbiotics free for 14 day prescriptions - to get you in the store... Doxy is on the list and i just refill every 2 weeks instead of 30 days.  cathleen ____________ _________ _________ __ From: Kathy <sunbriarwv (DOT) net> rheumatic@grou ps.com Sent: Mon, March 29, 2010 9:02:30 AM Subject: rheumatic Re: antiobiotic therapy sub standard?  Cathleen, How do you get antibiotics for free at the grocery store?
