Guest guest
Thanks . Yes I did have postive tests for mycoplasma and chlamydia pneumonia (not the std type chlamydia) but apparently you can get it even if someone coughed on you and your immune system was weak which mine was when i got ill because i was very angry and depressed at the time, very stressed, not well mentally. And then that took its tole on me physically and never the same since. I did test positive for herpes too, not the std kind again, but a cousin of it. But the doctors have been clueless and pushing plaquenil on me only. I dont even know where this herpes came from. I know I am battling sjogrens, peripheral neuropathy, and vestibular illness. I dont know what all this other stuff means and how it applies to the main diagnosis & all my symptons. I havent had new tests recently, because different labs come up with differnet results and even if i compared apples with apples, its my symptoms I care about and those are miserable still. I just reread parts of Overcoming Arthritis by Brownstein and also parts of the Infection Connection by Poehlmann. Although I'm new to arthritis and AP, it seems to me that sometimes a lot of things have to come together for a patient in order to get things moving in the right direction, and it is so individual. For someone it might be getting hormones balanced. Or doing a round of IVs. Or injections. Or adding a different antibiotic to address infections like strep, or taking antivirals to knock back herpes. Have you ever been tested for mycoplasma antibodies? Are there any lab results where you can see improvement over time? I've read that sometimes labs improve before symptoms, and sometimes it's the other way around. I wish I could help,
Guest guest
michelle i dont now if i teste for strep i dont recall that but i wouldnt need to have symptoms now to have it? as far as the herpes i dont have a single sign, not cold soar either. i forgot about niacin being anti viral, i can start that i meant to a while back. But your husband takes nicimacide? how much? I had read niacin can be drying thats why i didnt take it. Since i am already so dried out all over and its so bad. From: mmc2315 <m.chelap@...> Subject: rheumatic Re: AP hasn't worked for me, Long story rheumatic Date: Wednesday, August 13, 2008, 9:32 PM Vicki, what about strep? Were you tested for strep? It's a cheap test, available from TARCI. It wouldn't respond to tetracyclines, it would need something in the penicillin family. An untreated concurrent strep infection is something that can definitely hold up progress, well, so I've read. Also, someone told me herpes can hold up progress too. If your MD would be willing to call Dr. Coker-Vann at TARCI, she might be able to help. I'm not exactly sure what to do for herpes. My husband gets cold sores, and we are about to read a book called " Wipe Out Herpes with BHT " available at www.ceri.com He currently takes Niacinamide to suppress the virus. Brownstein says thyroid, adrenals and sex hormones need to be optimal too. It's also very difficult to find a competent practitioner in that area as well. My husband and I have used Mark for in-home tests and consultations. www.drmarkrhodes. com Keep overturning rocks, Vicki! You'll get there! Guest guest
Hi, Vicki! If you suffer from dry mouth (can't remember if you said you did), there is a product called Biotene toothpaste and mouthwash which is a big help. It is designed for people with dry mouth or mouth sensitivities. My dd used it for her constant canker sores, and I have used it for the dry mouth my medications give me. It is readily available. I believe it is a probiotic. As for the meds, I really understand how frustrating it is to know (or suspect) there is a medicine out there which will help you, but with so little research and so few knowledgeable AP/MP practitioners, it seems we must each find our own way. I was surprised I felt improvement as quickly as I did (after a couple of months of herxing) because my doc thought it would take at least a year given how long I had been sick. Blessings! Guest guest
I keep hearing about biotene but it doenst do anything other than whenn one brushes their teeth it doest dry out the mouth further like regular toothpaste that has sulfates in it. And the toothpaste doenst contain any probiotics in it. I think there is a lot of misinformation out there....
