Have you tried the Carbquick? It is used just like Bisquick but very

low carb. I make cornbread, biscuts, pancakes etc. from it & we LOVE it!

On the about.com site there is a section on lowcarb with a forum.

There are lots of recipes there.

Many of the members are hypo & are careful about what ingredients they

use.

I was interested until I read the ingredients in Carbquick on the Amazon

site. It contains sucralose which is Splenda. I try to totally avoid

Splenda. It is bad news. If you don't know about Splenda, google it.

Gale,

I tried carbquick, but didn't like it because it tastes sweet. I don't

like biscuits, pizza crusts, etc that have any sweet taste to them at

all, actually I don't even like sweet pancakes or waffles (I'm weird!).

So I bought the Carbalose flour, which is the basis of Carbquick, but

have no idea how to use it.

I'm actually on the lowcarb about.com and get the newsletter. Most of

the recipes I've looked at there contain soy or potatoes etc. Maybe I'm

jsut not looking at the right recipes!

Have you made any of the dessert recipes with erythritol? I wonder if

it causes diarrhea like xylitol does?

thanks,

sol

P.S. should this discussion be taken off list? I don't want to clog the

list with a discussion of no interest to most members.
