Guest guest
Fantastic news Amy you must be stoked with the quick results. Like you I only had my problems about 10 mths before I found AP & similarly got better & better quite quickly.. unfortunately here in Oz we can't get the mino you guys can access so we have to use other abx & combinations of abx to achieve the desired results so after a few tweaks here & there became asymptomatic at the 15mth mark & have only had a couple of hiccups since then. Good luck with your journey, Maz > > > > look into reactive arthritis (ReA), this one sounds more aggressive > > than RA, > > > > here is how I cured it: > > > > http://www.allergyfreeheaven.co.uk/ > > >
Guest guest
Amy, you are truly blessed to see what great results after 5 months AP! I just love hearing these types of stories.....and knowing we are all heading in the direction of healing/remission....just don't know when our number will be called! Blessings, Sally What was your rhem. factor and anti-ccp from your last blood test, and from what date? rheumatic Antibiotic Protocol Works!!!! I wanted to share my success with antibiotic protocol. I am well on the road to remission after 5 months of AP (100mg generic minocycline ( brand) 3 days a week)and avoid foods that aggravate my immune system as is supported by the member who shared the food allergy website below. My lab tests for rheumatoid factor and anti-ccp haven't dropped yet, but I am just amazed at what I am able to do with my hands these days. I wanted to give others who are on this path hope. I had only had symptoms of RA for a year when I found AP. I think that is why I have responded after just 5 months. I also believe that I've made progress by pampering my immune system by avoiding certain foods and using Ultra Clear (by Metagenics) which is a low-allergenic meal replacement that also helps detoxify the body. Hold the course...it is working for me. Guest guest
Maz, I am SOOOOO stoked that I have use of my hands again. Thanks! So glad to hear of your path and being asymptomatic. How long have you remained in good health? Have your rheumatoid factor and anti-ccp numbers fallen into the normal range? How long did that take? How high were they to start with? I am a scientist and crave to have my lab tests in line with how I am feeling. It will help me feel more secure that I am healed and not just in a remission that could flare. For Sally who asked about my numbers...In Dec 2009 my rheumatoid factor was 409. Had my anti-ccp tested in July 2010 and it was 90. In Dec. 2010 my rheumatoid factor fell about 10% to 364. The anti-ccp jumped to 151. Does anyone have any information on the anti-ccp increasing so much in just 5 months...or maybe I don't want to know. I do know the mind is a powerful thing and that thoughts can have real effects on our physical being. I can be happy in my ignorance. LOL, as long as I have my health. I am so happy to hear another book coming out about AP...The Road to Ida Grove. I feel so fortunate to have come across this therapy early in my illness. I want this information available to everyone. As for the question on what I eat... Metagenics Ultra Clear Medical Food (it is a powder I mix with water) for breakfast. I do avoid wheat, gluten, corn and am finding now that I can tolerate small amounts every 10 days or so. And when I do cheat, I take 2,000mg of vitamin C and that seems to mitigate the effects. I don't avoid meat, but I don't eat much. When I do eat chicken or beef, it is usually in soup or casserole. I eat wild salmon. Sam's Club sells Wild Salmon patties that are delicious. A few ingredients aren't wholesome, but overall they are not too bad. I turned to rice and potatoes for my starches. Sweet potatoes and sweet potato fries. And potato chips...without corn oil. Today I had salmon, rice, and veggies for lunch. Dinner was chili with beans and beef and potato chips. I'll probably have an apple later. I used to love grains with bread being my most loved food of all time. Now I find I'm not so attracted to them. Even with all the alternative grains such as buckwheat (a bowl of cream of buckwheat made me miserably sleepy), amaranth, quinua, etc., I just don't desire grains. I keep gluten-free bread around, but don't eat it very often. I've even cut way back on rice. At first I was making a big pot of brown rice and eating off it throughout the week. Now I have rice maybe twice a week. I do limit dairy, but end up consuming butter and some cheese. And my body seems ok with this. Ham and pork in larger servings can create swelling and pain in my hands the next day, so I limit my exposure to pork. I work in a restaurant so my diet isn't as clean as if I prepared all my meals at home. My chiropractor suggested I use Ultra Clear for 3 weeks to clear my system, then slowly introduce foods back and see which ones aggravated my symptoms. this helped me identify the foods my immune systems reacts to. I really do believe that by helping my immune system rest (by not giving it trigger foods) that it has helped me heal. I have also found that Omega Q Plus (an omega 3 supplement http://www.drsinatra.com/omega-q-plus.html) helps greatly with general stiffness and aches as well as my energy. When I go off it for 2 or 3 days, I awake feeling 200 years old. I hope this helps. Thanks for your questions. Guest guest
Thanks Amy for all this good info. I continue with mostly raw diet, lots of sprouts, salads, avocados and soups lightly cooked. Almost no chicken or fish....not wanting that much anymore. No dairy, wheat, sugar, caffeine, red meat. I don't fix fancy meals now, but have cravings for more and more delicious raw food meals. And yes, once in awhile I'll order delivery of something (even pizza) and do fine with it. Don't do fine with sugar or caffeine for not having it for so long. My food is simple, but good and nutritious. Basically, I go for what my body wants. Guest guest
Hi, I have some questions for those who have done IV's. I've been on AP 7 months, and next week will be doing my first IV here at home. Doc S. is prescribing 5 days of Clindimycin, 900 mg. twice a day. Questions: 1. During those 5 days, do I up my probiotics, or stop them. I'm thinking the high dose of clindimycin could defeat any benefit of probiotics? 2. After the 5 days, should I up my probiotics, or do anything special to put good bacteria back? Any other imput or suggestions that would help during the 5 days is appreciated. Guest guest
Sally, Keep taking Minocin even during the IV’s. Yes you can increase probiotics during and after the IV’s because more antibiotics will kill more good bacteria. NEVER stop them. There is a supplement called prebiotics which feeds the good bacteria. Many people say they are unnecessary but I take them. If you can afford it…to prevent or cure leaky gut get from any supplement store or by mail…. aloe vera gel, glutamine and slippery elm. I take this every day even when I am not on antibiotics. I would ask for 2 doses of Diflucan to take after the IV’s. It is an antifungal and with all those antibiotics fungus may grow even if you do not feel or see it. Then “get ready to feel betterâ€!!!!! Guest guest
Hi Eva, Ok!, There is one natural food store about an hour away from us. I will go there and check the next time I go to that mall. I could have used some kefir tonight. Instead I ate some cottage cheese and it seemed to calm down my heartburn. How are you and Burl doing? I guess you know that I finally got my minocin. I had to call Triax personally and they called my pharmacy and within 24 hrs. I had my medicine. How are your hips? R U up on your feet yet? I know you are going to Germany with the church choir. I wish I could go to Germany also. I have a cousin near Manheim whom I would love to visit. Take care and thank you for your offer to show me how to make kefir. I have not seen any in the food stores here. Best to you, Dolores & Mike From: Bev Hannon <bahannon@...> Subject: Re: rheumatic Re: Antibiotic Protocol Works!!!! rheumatic Date: Thursday, February 24, 2011, 3:43 PM  I bought cartons of yogurt or Kefir and ate them with my lunch. clindamycin IVmorning and night, good bacteria at noon. seemed to work for me.
