Guest guest
Buy the books, and teach your doc. If he is not receptive, then find a doc that is. Most Rheumy's think they know it all. Stay away from that kind of doc. Find someone who is into healing and alternative medicine. Show them the books. Tell them about A/P. Grab the prescription you got and ask the doc to make it for 90 days. Then take the three months to find that special doc who is open to learning something new. Bring copies of all your blood work, do research and keep track of your progress. When they see you progressing, the arrogant ones back off or ignore you completely rather than say they were wrong. The open minded docs will want to know more. Google MP which is really a different version of A/P only more intense with more than one antibiotic. Bring all the information you can get your hands on to each visit. Some docs will toss it and some will read it. But they can't argue with success. If you have some $$$$ go to see Dr. Trentham in Boston. From VA., you will have to fly there. He will put you on Minocin 100mg twice a day right off the bat. He will give you 6 months worth of Minocin (Brand Only) with refills. Get those refills. The you will have nine months or more to find a doc near you willing to take the chance. These docs are not taught the A/P in school. They have no clue. They would rather put down your immune system with immune suppressants that boost you up to a healthy state. Buy time and take the capsules with lots of water and on an empty stomach. Wait at least one or two hours before resuming regular meals again and after the last night dose, sit up for an hour or half hour until you are sure the capsule went down where it is supposed to go and does you the most good. You don't want it lingering in the esophagus as you will get the worse heart burn you ever had. You'll feel like someone lit a fire within you. It happened to me and I drank water till the fire went out. If you continue to have abdominal problems or esophageal, then take some probiotics or eat something light, but no dairy with these pills. Save the pudding, cheese and cream for later. Guest guest
Hi Dee, The only Dr. in VA that I know of who knows about A/P and uses it is Dr. Norman Levine in Aldie, VA; 703 260 3484. He hopes to relocate to Winchester when he can but he's currently off of Rt 50. I do not know if he is taking new patients but I think he's well worth it. I've known about him since 1986 and have been his patient since 1996. Guest guest
Hi Amy, Dr. Levin does not take any insurance. He spends a lot of time with his patient but I don't know whether to consider him expensive or not. He has several categories of new patient (levels 3-5) and five levels associated with 'established' patients. His level 4 established patient is $95.00. I never seem to get around to submitting the bills to my insurance company so I don't know what they might reimburse. Hope this helps, El _____ From: rheumatic [mailto:rheumatic ] On Behalf Of Amy Sent: Saturday, July 26, 2008 9:40 PM rheumatic Subject: Re: rheumatic lurker emerging:) Do you know, does he take insurance & is very expensive?
