Guest guest
Wow, I had this happen to me for a while and it went away....my feet would tingle and feel like they were asleep but they weren't. I have no idea what would cause it! Kim numbing of left foot and fingers on left hand Hi all, I've developed numbing (goes to sleep) of my left foot when I sit at the computer..it happens almost instantly. I also have been experiencing the same type of numbness on my left hand specifically the left side including the small finger and finger next to it..it wakes me up alot in the wee hours of the morning. I had read something about this being connected to either thyroid or adrenal problem but can't remember where I saw it.. Any info anybody?? Guest guest
Hi Sara, yes, I have the left hand thing - especially the pinky and ring finger. I believe that it affects both of my hands and feet and has something to do with retaining fluid since I began Isocort and now HC. Others have surmised that it is a hypo symptom. I still have it, but it waxes and wanes and/or I've gotten used to not having as much function in those two fingers. I'm hoping that it will resolve when I get on enough Armour and/or get off of HC some day. > have been experiencing the same type of numbness on my left hand > specifically the left side including the small finger and finger next > to it..it wakes me up alot in the wee hours of the morning. > > I had read something about this being connected to either thyroid or > adrenal problem but can't remember where I saw it.. > > Any info anybody?? > > Sara >
Guest guest
I think it can be a lot of things. Thyroid, B12 deficiency, different mineral or vitamin deficiencies, even Aldosterone deficiency. Mine has improved mostly from taking more sea salt. Guest guest
Have you had your B-12 checked recently? This can be a symptom of low b-12 which causes nerve damage. Guest guest
Mine has definitely improved since the dark days when I was having those attacks at night that left my hands and feet tingling and then deadened and aching the next day. That was the start of it for me. If it's B-12 related in me hopefully the B-12 injections that I'm giving myself 2x/week will help. I'm also back to measuring out the sea salt morning and night instead of just sprinkling, although I do some of that too. > > I think it can be a lot of things. Guest guest
I was taking 1/4tsp morning and evening but became convinced that it was causing me to retain water which I thought was contributing to the problem in my hands. I'm still not convinced that it isn't contributing to that problem, but I think that the HC is contributing more. The sea salt does seem to help resolve the dizziness that I know is a SE of low cortisol and, of all the things that I have seen recommended on this group and others, some of which is often the subject of some disagreement, the consensus opinion seems to be that at least 1/2tsp a day is good and that more would be better so I'm trying to do it whether it contributes to water retention or not. So, 1/4tsp 2x/day and I'm sprinkling it in my drinking water at work and salting my food with it pretty liberally. > > Hi , > > How much salt do you take daily? > > > Sara
