Guest guest
It seems like we're going to have a hard time finding a cream, ointment or gel that has not one undesirable ingredient in it. I found these as the inactive ingredients of Corticool: Inactive Ingredients Benzethonium Chloride; Benzophenone 4; Hypromellose; Menthol; Peppermint Oil; Polysorbate 20; Propylene Glycol; Purified Water; SD Alcohol 40-B (20% by Weight); Sodium Gluconate; Sodium Metabisulfite Better than the ointment b/c no petrolatum? I like the marketing stuff about better, quicker absorption if it's true. > > You want to avoid petroleum and mineral oil but if there is only one bad > contaminant in there it looks like a pretty good brand to me. > > Cheri > -----Original Message----- > > > I found ointment today at Rite-Aid with only aloe extract and white > petrolatum as inactive ingredients. Guest guest
I found this: CortiCool 1% Hydrocortisone Gel (1/32 oz pkts/144 ct box) at this link: http://www.tophand.peachhost.com/ct_PRccl144bx-or.htm Cherie Experience: that most brutal of teachers. Guest guest
Do you want vaseline sticky skin? LOL. Petrolatum doesn't absorb well at all and WILL transfer to your clothes and anything you touch. It was great for my large eczema areas, as I could dampen all the eczema skin, and slather on the ointment to keep the skin moist and deliver cortisone at the same time. During my bad eczema, I had to use the very heavy creams and the ointment, so much that I had to boil my nightshirts with some dish liquid, and then boil them again to rinse before they could go in the washing machine! And they still felt and looked greasy. sol jasrich wrote: > I found ointment today at Rite-Aid with only aloe extract and white > petrolatum as inactive ingredients. Guest guest
My Corticool gel had different ingredients. Mine had these inactive ingredients: hypromellose, menthol, polyoxyl castor oil, propylene glycol, purified water, SD alcohol, NO bothersome ingredients. So, there must be two Corticools at Walgreens. Like I mentioned before, the absorption was SO MUCH quicker. And, like some weak adrenal types, I am very sensitive to unnatural odors. This gel had no bothersome order that the Equate had for me. Guest guest
The Corticool gel I got with the hypromellose, menthol, polyoxyl castor oil, propylene glycol, purified water, SD alcohol ingredients was in a 1.5 oz tube. Guest guest
Tried the ointment and didn't like it b/c of the grease factor just as you say. Gel sounds like a winner to me. Off to Walgreen today I guess. > > Do you want vaseline sticky skin? LOL. > Petrolatum doesn't absorb well at all and WILL transfer to your clothes > and anything you touch. Guest guest
I went to Walgreens and got the Corticool and it has all of the ingredients that I originally posted below which include the ones that Pamela posted, but also the others. It is in a purple box, says " corticool " in big lower case letters on the tube, and the name of the company is Tec Labs. I didn't see another there. Here is a link to the company's page showing what I bought - http://tinyurl.com/2mdvp6 . Are we all talking about the same product or is there another one with the same name and with fewer contaminants? Has anyone tried gel? Seems like it would rub in and maybe absorb even > easier than cream. Guest guest
, Well, that's queer. My box is purple also with lower-cased letters on the tube, and the name of the company is Tec Labs. But, my box stated it has only the Inactive Ingredients I posted. NO mention of the inactive ingredients you stated. Guest guest
Could you and compare expiry dates to see who has the newer product? One way or the other the company has either changed their labelling or they have changed the prodcut formula. sol Pamela wrote: > Well, that's queer. Guest guest
Couldn't find an expiration date on mine. Guest guest
Expiry on the tube that I just bought today is 01/08. Maybe something has changed in the meantime. I might have to take mine back now and find a different Walgreens tomorrow. > > Well, that's queer. Guest guest
It's on the end of tube, not on the box. > > Well, that's queer.
