Guest guest
We can get raw butter for $4 a pound, but the farmer doesn't work it as much as I work mine. I get bright yellow butter from the same milk and his is almost white and very airy butter. His tastes great but burns easily as it has a lot of milk solids in it. I work the butter until it is a deep yellow and has the consistency of store bought stick butter. We pay $4 a gallon for milk. It takes me about 1 1/2 quarts of cream to make a pound of butter. That's the cream from about 3 gallons of milk. ine
