Guest guest
We've all been there! I was so swollen, my toes felt like they were going to POP! I was in so much pain-- just from the swelling! After 2 nights of laying flat on my back with my knees up on top of about 3 pillows, the swelling was gone! I survived my 1st few weeks on " carb freedom " yogurt by blue bunny. I just did the vanilla creme-- nothing with fruit. It has only 5 sugars and 9 proteins.... I didn't have any trouble with the gas, so I can't help you any there, but good luck, it WILL GET BETTER! > > UGhh! Guest guest
Thank you . It is just driving me crazy not being able to chew anything or have any feeling of food in my mouth. Today I actually grabbed a small french fry of my sons plate & chewed it up & spit it out even before any juices could escape down my throat! It felt soo good to chew something! My husband & kids looked soo shocked! I wish I had a picture of their faces,LOL Thank you!!! Post op 6 days 277/XXX/135 > > Hang in there . You can do it. Guest guest
That is GREAT that you have no pain! I went all day today w/ no pain meds & just took some a little while ago for achy knees,I have no idea why! I thought the bathroom stuff wouldn't happen for a week or so as I thought some said but we got it early. Like you said I dare not pass unless on the toilet! That swallow stuff almost made me vomit as it was soo horrible tasting but my test showed just fine too. Great to see you are coming home & good luck with the MARRIAGE! Thank you!!! Guest guest
I noticed if I go up & down steps it helps pass gas,but I am still afraid of the accidents, and constantly run to the bathroom LOL ! I didn't get socks from the hospital. My mom was just asking me about those tonight.Wonder why I didn't get them,Hmmm. Thank you!!! Post op 6 days 277/XXX/135 > > Hi , > > Welcome to the losing side! I can relate to your swelling and gas pains. As for the swelling, I kept my legs elevated and wore the stockings provided by the hospital. For the gas, I found it easier to pass if I rotated lying on my left and right side. I don't know why, but it worked for me. I too was also nervous about having an accident, but after awhile I decided " oh well if I do. I'll just clean up and shower. " I got tired of running to the bathroom everytime I felt the urge to have nothing happen. Fortunately, I never had an accident. > > I hope you find some relief soon. > > in Virginia > pre-op: 299 > present: 257 > surgery date: 3 May 2006 > > Drowning in liquids > > > UGhh! Guest guest
Personally, I love it! I've been eating for a long time, even before surgery! The sugars didn't bother me at all! I have since found " Carb Master " by Kroger-- if you are lucky enough to one! (We don't... found it in Dallas while on vacation!) It has only 3 sugars and 12 grams of protein and only costs $.38! Glad the swelling has gone down some... I was so relieved when my toes looked " normal " instead of like little sausages!! Good luck! > > > > > > UGhh!
