Guest guest
SHAKE IT OFF AND STEP UP! This parable is told of a farmer who owned an old mule. The mule fell into the farmer's well. The farmer heard the mule praying or whatever mules do when they fall into wells. After carefully assessing the situation, the farmer sympathized with the mule, but decided that neither the mule nor the well was worth the trouble of saving. Instead, he called his neighbors together, told them what had happened, and enlisted them to help haul dirt to bury the old mule in the well and put him out of his misery. Initially the old mule was hysterical! But as the farmer and his neighbors continued shoveling and the dirt hit his back. . . a thought struck him. It suddenly dawned on him that every time a shovel load of dirt landed on his back, HE WOULD SHAKE IT OFF AND STEP UP! This he did, blow after blow. " Shake it off and step up. . . shake it off and step up. . . shake it off and step up! " He repeated to encourage himself. No matter how painful the blows, or how distressing the situation seemed, the old mule fought panic and just kept right on SHAKING IT OFF AND STEPPING UP! It wasn't long before the old mule, battered and exhausted, stepped triumphantly over the wall of that well! What seemed like it would bury him actually helped him. . . all because of the manner in which he handled his adversity. THAT'S LIFE! If we face our problems and respond to them positively, and refuse to give in to panic, bitterness, or self-pity. . . THE ADVERSITIES THAT COME ALONG TO BURY US USUALLY HAVE WITHIN THEM THE VERY REAL POTENTIAL TO BENEFIT US! Never be afraid to try something new. Remember that amateurs built the ark. But I can't visualize how you are going to do this with your bad shoulder. Be careful! We all like having you around. Love, Bunny

Guest guest
I can not believe how rude this message was. I think I have had it with this list too. I enjoy the information given here & it is also enjoyable to hear about " LIFE " experiences. If you want to only read about the technical part of psoriatic arthritis, get a book. I am signing off too. How rude, you should be ashamed! Debbie [ ] ot > > Hello everyone, > I have been a member on this list for over a year. It used to be a list > about psoriatic arthritis. Guest guest
Hello everyone and Patty Bacon, I don't really care if it's OT or not OT. What was getting to me was the really long lengths of the emails. And automatically quoting the original message was adding to the length. The moderator used to remind people not do it automatically. So short OTs like the kitty I liked, really long OTs I don't like. And I don't mean long once in awhile but really long repeatedly. That's just my opinion. Noone else has to agree with it just as I don't have to agree to like them. Surely this idea shouldn't test our patience *that* much. If so, just scroll through it. Guest guest
Congratulations Colleen!! It takes a special person to do daycare. Shaye The Soap Shack www.mysoapshack.com OT Hi all! I hope you don't mind but I had to tell someone else this news. Long story, made real short-I hate my " real " job and have been looking to get out of there for years. Last year I went from manager to pt and this Aug. I got my daycare license. Last week I had a couple come interview me to take care of their 6wk. old son. I heard from a couple people I gave them as references that they'd called and hadn't checked anyone else's references they met. That gave me hope! Thurs. I left a message for them and heard nothing all weekend. I became discouraged and thought for sure they had chosen someone else. Welllll, yesterday the wife called and at the end of the month I'll be watching their son!!! Not only is my soap business coming together, but so is my daycare! Can't afford to totally quit the pt job yet, but getting closer! Thanks for letting me share! Colleen Country Meadow Creations
Guest guest
Way to go Colleen! Your a better person than me. I did the daycare routine a few times, but started after my son had started school....I wasn't happy cause I had gotten used to having my days child free to clean (occasionally LOL) and for soaping. Best of luck! Terri
Guest guest
oh this is nice--now we have little girls already starting ot believe that they need medical intervention to have a baby!!!!!!!!!!!!! my best friend from school had a planned c-section with her 2nd baby--had emergency one with the first. anyway, she was thrilled to be able to plan what day it would be, pick a date, schedule it, no hurry, no worry, no mess, just a done deal. i felt so sorry for her that this was how she felt about something that is so unique and special for her. well, obviously not special for her--but could be. sigh... Guest guest
A friend sent this to me and I was so sickened... wanted to share this with you. Let's educate our kids now! My daughter watched her baby brother being born. Many thought I was crazy to let her see and thought it was abuse... after reading this, I KNOW I did the right thing. I found this on a pregnancy site in a Kids say the darnest things catagory. I thought it was really a sad comment on our medicalized culture. When I was about six months pregnant, my husband, my two stepdaughters (aged 3 1/2 and 4 1/2) and myself were sitting around discussing how a baby " comes out. " The girls, and Daina, both replied, " the doctor cuts your tummy open and he gets the baby out. " Both girls were born by Casarean section and their new baby cousin was also delivered by Casarean, so they didn't know of any other way. My husband told them that there was another way that a baby can be born, which is out of the vagina. They both looked at him horrified and flatly refused to believe him, even after he showed them pictures. After my husband left the room, , the elder, whispered in my ear, " Don't worry, you don't really have to do what daddy says, you can get the doctor to cut your tummy open. " They also added that only animals have babies like that. Don't kids just say the darnedest things? " Margaret White

Guest guest
I wonder how long it will be before a C-section is the common way of having birth? I mean, it is just so much more convenient for the doctors, and they make so much more $$$... Guest guest
It is not for everyone but it is a beautiful and comfortable experience. I try to advise everyone to have their baby where they are comfortable and with people they are comfortable with. I loved having my baby in my bed and then just staying there right next to my baby and nursing until we both fell asleep. Pure heaven!
