Guest guest
Mona , Good morning! Sorry, could not hear you as my computer was offline all day yesterday while running a fix it program that ended up being a waste of time. Guest guest
So much for fix it programs making your computer functional. LOL! In another hour and a half I will be having my CT scan. A tactile terp will be there and I plan to ask the radiologist if he can explain to me why I'm having it done because I still haven't received an explanation from my CI audi. Guest guest
Mona , How about 10 hours for nothing? Yeah. Then when it came time to fix the errors, it said, Buy Me! My response to that was to uninstall the program. LOL Good luck with the CT scan. Shall I have a mocha waiting for you? And yes, you should get an answer as to why the test is being done. *---* *---* *---* *---* *---* Take care to get what you like or you will be forced to like what you get. -- Bernard Shaw & Dreamer Doll ke7nwn E-mail- rclark0276@... Guest guest
10 hours?? I don't think your computer likes you very much, does it? LOL! I plan to talk to the radiologist today during my appointment. Hopefully my CI surgeon can give me more of an explanation today or Monday. Guest guest
Yep 10 hours but I learn lots. Am going to add a 2nd hard drive which is coming today, and also got an external drive I will use for backups. Then I will see what I can do to automate backups of certain data such as for my email client. I did it fairly often prior to XP but this is the first time since getting this computer 4 years ago that I will have done a reformat. Yes its been that stable a machine. But I am ready, have done my homework, gathered up utilities to backup certain programs and printed out instructions for installing particular drivers etc. And a list of all the apps I will re install in a certain order. XP (duh!) and other MS apps go first, then run Windows Update before I proceed further. See yuh later, and hope you get your answers today, why wait? Guest guest
Hey , I'm back from my CT scan and everything went well. I was surprised because my tactile terp did not show up. I have no idea why, but I am not happy about that even if the CT scan only took a few minutes. Fortunately, I was able to communicate with the radiologist before starting the CT scan who laid me down on the platform and then had me remove my CIs right before we began. When we were finished, she tapped me on my leg and waited for me to put my CIs back on. The radiologist was very, very nice and read me the notation on the order for the CT scan from my CI surgeon which said " dizziness. " She also said that they want to look at the temporal bone and that it should take 2-3 days before I hear back from my surgeon. Probably Friday afternoon, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that there is nothing to worry about. Guest guest
Good deal, . I just love it when I run into people who dont need to be educated first. Some seem to have that special kind of understanding and anticipate most of not all your needs. Happy to hear it went very smoothly. Now to sit and wait...and wait for the report. LOL Lets see, about 3-4 mochas worth of waiting? LOL *---* *---* *---* *---* *---* I had a rose named after me and I was very flattered. Guest guest
3-4 mochas will do it! LOL! By the way, it felt very strange being in the CT scanner and feeling it vibrate underneath me without hearing any sound. LOL! ---- <rclark0276@...> wrote: > Good deal, . Guest guest
And if 3-4 turns out not to be enough, we shall improvise! LOL Was it disconcerting to feel the vibration and not hear it? Guest guest
Yes, it was very disconcerting because I could feel the machine running, but not hear it and it has been 4 years since I've been without hearing. I also felt nauseous and claustrophobic even though I am totally blind because there were periods where the CT scanner did not move. ---- <rclark0276@...> wrote: > And if 3-4 turns out not to be enough, we shall improvise! Guest guest
, Would knowing what was coming have helped? I can somewhat relate as I am in that twilight zone with my hearing and vision and there are times when I feel like I am in space. Guest guest
Well, I knew what was coming because someone on the list sent me a private e-mail explaining what would happen as far as the CT scan was concerned. I knew what to expect -- I just didn't like the fact that I couldn't hear. I can't stand to be without my CIs -- not even for a few seconds. Remember the day of Obama's inauguration? I spent all day being unable to hear because of dizziness and I was completely miserable. Thank goodness my maps have been tweaked and I can hear once again. ---- <rclark0276@...> wrote: > , > Would knowing what was coming have helped? Guest guest
, When I had a CT Scan for the first CI, or was it the MRI? Either way, I found myself having to lie with my head in some kind of a cradle. With not being able to either see or hear, I suddenly became scared & began to sscream, very unlike me. They stopped the testing & let my SSP hold my hand the rest of the testing.
