Ruth,

I know in the literature that I have read that depression is common

after surgery. Please be sure to get in touch with the therapist that you

saw before surgery and let him know about this! I suffered with post-partum

depression after I had my son. You do not realize how bad you really feel

until you start treatment. It is not a bad thing to be depressed a lot of

people go through it. Just please get some help for it so that it doesn't

get worse!

Speaking from experience,

, That is great news!! I hope your pred decrease goes well. I can't

seem to stay at 10mg. After about 2 weeks I have a flare. How long have you

been on the metho? They told me it could take up to 3 months to start

working and last week was my 3rd month at 15mg. Hope it just starts

attacking those little beasties in there and REALLY starts working. Will try

again later to decrease pred. That is my goal. Im keeping my fingers

crossed for you and saying prayers. What a wonderful thought to be off pred.

Love ya

Hi

here

I have been on Metho- since April 99. It seems that everytime i get below

15 mgs of prednisone like you after 2 weeks i have a flare, usually in my

right eye. Then we have to up the pred until the flare goes away and then

start tapering off the pred again. It like a cycle. I hope it works this

time.

They did a chest x-ray, said I had pnenomia and sent me home. On Sunday I woke with a fever of 104.3.

He took me back to the ER and they kept me. For 8 days. I was so sick!! I left the hospital exactly 1 week before Christmas, and I hadn't had a thing bought.

Hi ,

I don't think we've ever met so I wanted to say "Hello." You certainly had your share of sickness for the holidays and I hope you get well soon. I don't know how you managed to get everything done before Christmas. Now, take care of yourself...so you won't have a relapse. I'll keep you in my prayers.

Hugs & Prayers

Itzik,

I think you are confusing info on Parkinson's with MSA. Many researchers

feel that Parkinson's can be cured in as little as two years, if the work

continues at NIH in the USA. They have cured Parkinson's like problems

in mice at NIH. However, our new President has put this research

on hold while they decide if the work is morally acceptable. The

opponents of the research picture it as creating a enstein like creation

or killing the cells. It is really more like a blood transfusion

of brain cells. The cells continue to live and cure (hopefully) in

a brain disorder patient.

However, I have heard nothing about a cure for MSA at this time.

The hope of many people is that this work on Parkinson's will lead to enough

information to find a cure a cure for MSA.

Take care, Bill and Charlotte

Dr. Ahlskog at Mayo told my father when he was dx that

he thinks they " may be " 3-5 years from a cure for MSA.

I hope and pray he's right.

I'm thinking that if they can cure PD, a cure for MSA

can't be far behind since the diseases are similar. I

may be totally off base with that, though.

Carrots, the poem is beautiful & I love the imagery. I actually felt sad when I read it, because I've never had a relationship like that. I married a man I really didn't know; I didn't even know myself. We had problems from the beginning and even though we stuck it out for 22 years, I never experienced that kind of love and intimacy. So, using my imagination, I think it's wonderful! Rose

Hi . . . (um, how should I address you?)

Sorry I can't help - I'm less than 6 months out of surgery - but I do

want to welcome you. This group has been a great source of support and

information for me. I hope that it proves to be the same for you.

I also would like to say that I think that you have done great in

getting from 600 to 260 pounds and maintaining that loss. I understand

that you want to lose more - but, please, don't lose sight of the fact

that you have accomplished a lot.

I hope that someone has answers for you.

All the best,

Kay
