I regularly drink some from a machine I purchased ( " Mini Super Water - Super Oxide Water " ). It uses electrolysis to create so-called " alkaline " water in one container and " acid " water in another. The latter is used in hospitals for sterilization as it is quite the oxidant (and the hospitals don't really have a need for the alkaline water). The alkaline water, when drunk, acts as a strong anti-oxidant by bonding to free radicals and stabilizing them. There are those, to be fair, that feel this artificial water is de-stabilizing to the body. I'm wary of that and alert to any changes but so far I have observed no negative effects. I also drink lots of green vegetable juice which is another strong anti-oxidant drink. What I have noticed is a decrease in injury repair time of cuts and scratches and bruises. Of the few moles that I have on my skin several have dried and flaked off (more than once as I quit the water for some time and at least one mole came back and has now again dried up and flaked off a second time). The smell and taste of the water is reminiscent of spring water. I think, all in all, it has been a good experiment so far and I plan to continue using the water for awhile. Honestly, I don't have particular products to recommend - I just came by this particular model and I don't think it is still being made (but there are others I've noticed on the internet). Distilled water will not work - some salt has to be added to permit electrical conduction through the water. I add a tiny pinch of Celtic Sea Salt to carbon-filtered tap water. I use a non-bleached coffee filter to filter out some mineral precipitates and store it in the refrigerator in a covered mason jar. -=mark=- Regards, -=mark=-

I use to use an ionizer made by Singer and sold through High Tech Health (you could find their website easily through a search). I liked their unit best because it was the only one I found that had ultra-violet to clean the inside of the unit (the other ones had the possiblity of bacterial contamination within the unit and no system to disinfect it). There are two basic types of ionzers that I ran into... a flow though and a batch unit. The flow through is what I had - it hooks up to your faucet and everytime you get water it is treated. This was convienent. The down side is that the unit does not filter flouride and I " m not really sure how effective it is on other pollutants (this is why I eventually stopped using it - I sold it). The batch units do not hook up to your faucet - you pour water into them, run the machine for about 30 minutes and it produces two batches of water - one ionized/alkaline and one acid (good for soaking vegetables and using externally). It might be possible to use distilled water with this unit if you add minerals to the water (it was possible to use this unit with RO water if you add minerals so I'm assuming distilled would be the same). The guy I spoke to about the batch units said that filtered, non-RO water would be better though. The flow through units produce a redox of around -100 to -300 while the batch units can produce a redox of around -500 to -800. According to some, to really have therapuetic effects, you need the higher numbers. I don't think that is necessarily true - any negative redox would be beneficial, especially over time. I could tell a difference when I got my unit. At first I had strong detox signs - I got headaches if I drank too much water. As I used it and gradually drank more water from the unit, I felt like I had more energy and experienced benefits in my spine (less rigidity, bones didn't seem to sublux as easily). A friend of mine drank my water on a regular basis too and she felt better with it (she really noticed a difference when she went out of town for an extended trip and didn't have the water). The problem I had with the flow through unit was feeling like I wasn't getting very clean water (not able to purify it prior to having it go through the unit - the unit itself had a basic carbon filter). The problem I had with the batch unit was: 1) it is a hassle to have to make water everyday 2) the redox changes quickly so if you store the water even for a day, you don't end up with a lot of negative ions at the end of the day 3) to maintain the negative redox at all the water has to be refridgerated and I don't drink cold water 4) the pH was often above 10 and I had been warned that this can have detrimental effects of the intestines (something to do with protein - possibly pulling protein from your body???.. don't remember). The pH of the flow-through unit could get pretty high too but generally stayed under 10 (we were in FL at the time and there was a lot of coral in the water which may have raised the pH). Overall, I really like ionized, alkaline water and I think it does have health benefits but I would like to find a better system for creating it. You should talk to at Radiant Life about their system. Barb Barb
Guest guest
Take a look at water ionizer at http://www.betterwayhealth.com/. They also offer a pre-filter that eliminates 97% of the fluoride. Roman

They also offer a pre-filter >that eliminates 97% of the fluoride. This looks like a good machine and is a lot cheaper than most I have seen (including the one I bought years ago!) I'm tempted to get one myself. I emailed the seller of this machine and asked about the flouride filter and the pH and redox of the water run through this machine...this is what he said: Barb, Since fluoride is attracted to the same electrode as the acidic water you reduce your fluoride load by about 35%. Fluoride is too small a molecule to be physically eliminated by filtration. Fortunately, the Fluoride is attracted to the same electrode as the Acidic component of the water during Ionization and a good portion of it exits the unit with the Acidic water. The Ionization process itself will not remove all the Fluoride unless the unit is equipped with a specialty filter. I have investigated some alternatives for producing a greater reduction of Fluoride. Potassium, incorporated in the filter, is one possible solution, however, it leaves the water with a very bitter and unacceptable taste. I do offer a Pre-filter that eliminates 97% of the Fluoride by adsorbing (the Fluoride permanently adheres to the media) the offending molecules. Additionally this filter is effective in removing: Arsenic, Hydrogen Chloride, Hydrogen Sulfide, and Carbonyl Sulfide ($93 + shipping - shipping included if ordered with your unit. Replacement cartridge $57 - one year service life). Our Fluoride pre-filter leaves intact the necessary, flavor enhancing, high efficiency, multi stage, activated carbon filter that is an integral part of your Jupiter Masterpiece Ionized Alkaline Water Filter. This high quality filter removes 99.5% of the Chlorine, also heavy metals, etc. just prior to the water entering the Ionization chamber. (The Chlorine removal process is a Proprietary method unique to Jupiter Ionizing Alkaline Water Filters) In the Ionization chamber, the acidic causing elements in the water are separated and eliminated with the Acidic water. The beneficial minerals (Calcium, Magnesium etc.), are Ionized (this allows you to better absorb them) and are part of the Alkaline water that you drink. Also, during Ionization, the water is restructured into symmetrical " micro clusters " that have 5 to 6 water molecules instead of the 12 to 13 molecule structure of " regular " water. This " wetter water " hydrates your cells more efficiently and carries a much greater proportion of Oxygen than other water. The end result is water that Alkalizes, Oxygenates and Detoxes your body while Enhancing Your Immune System. Cancer and other disease cannot survive in a properly Alkalized and Oxygenated environment. The final pH of the water, after Ionization, is largely determined by the properties of your source water. With the Jupiter Ionized Alkaline Water Filters you have a choice of 5 pH settings. A pH test kit is included with your Jupiter so that you can determine what pH is produced at each setting. Typically, using municipal source water, your Jupiter Ionized Alkaline Water Filter will produce Alkaline water ranging from around 7 pH at the lowest setting to around 10 pH (and above in many cases) at the highest of the 5 programmable setting selections. (Corresponding acidic water goes as low as 3.8 pH.) The ORP at the highest pH is around -150 mv. It isn't recommended that you consume water over 9 pH. Most Jupiter Masterpiece owners use their water in the 8.5 to 9 pH range to gain the maximum health benefits (Alkalizing, Oxygenating and Detoxing your body while Enhancing your Immune System).
