Guest guest
I've been on generic Florinef since the middle of November. Things I've noticed: Food seems to really taste good these days...I mean better than usual. I have A-fib rarely now, but I do get it sometimes. I did get to a whole tab but found this was really too much for me (I was even getting air hunger...how odd), and I backed down to 3/4, then to 1/2 tab, and I am finally doing quite well on 1/4 tab a day. I also noticed that the rest of my missing hair is finally growing back, almost 18 years after RAI - it made me totally bald and Armour/BHRT/Iodoral brought more than half back. I hope it's permanent, because if it is I am doing a happy dance. I'm kind of holding my breath until I find out the return of my hair really " is " permanent and not just a temporary side effect of taking generic Florinef. Oh yes, I've also been consistently loosing a wee bit of weight, which is a good thing. Val? Is the hair regrowth permanent? Guest guest
Sam I would like to say so but it is a side of Florinef I have not heard before, but THAT is one understudied hormone. I really think all the effects of Aldosterone are not even begun to be known. so ???? Guest guest
That is wonderful Sam, about your hair!! There are so many gals who are losing their hair from hypo. Maybe the florinif is the missing piece of the puzzle. Gale > > I've been on generic Florinef since the middle of November. Guest guest
Well, I guess/hope if it's like other hormones maybe the regrowth is permanent. I read the hair growth think online after google searching it... I think I'll just keep my fingers crossed for a while. Guest guest
Hi Sam, I mentioned your aldosterone discovery on a different post in thread 39073... MsSquarepants had questions so I told her I'd try to " find " you... we're all interested in finding that " missing link " to hair loss after otherwise " optimized " ... Thank you so much... I hope that hair keeps growing.

Guest guest
Sam spends a lot of time oh the yahoo group " hypothyroidism " . You should post there if you have questions for her. She also has her own group " thyroidless " . Guest guest
Sam doesn't hang around here much, but she runs the " thyroidless " Yahoo group so you might find her there. My recollection is that she found that her aldosterone was low so she went on florinef with Val's recommended ramp-up dosing schedule for it which I believe is something like 1/4 tab for a week, then 1/2 for a week and so on up to the .1mg full dose. I'm pretty sure that Val would say to get your aldosterone and maybe renin checked first. > > Hi Sam, I mentioned your aldosterone discovery on a different post in thread 39073... > MsSquarepants had questions so I told her I'd try to " find " you... we're all interested in finding > that " missing link " to hair loss after otherwise " optimized " ... > > Thank you so much...
