Guest guest
I know you need to stress dose when you have surgery, dental work, are ill, maybe a major pain and of course if it's obvious (like shaking, nausea etc). Some people on realthyroidhelp also say stress dose when you're doing fun activities (such as walking around Disneyland all day) or when doing ordinary things but things that might be stressful for you personally. What's you're bottom line on stress dosing? Are we using it to much? As an example, doctor appointment or anything medical is somewhat stressful for me. I get the adrenaline rush, pounding heart etc. I know if I had proper cortisol this wouldn't happen but in a case like this is proper cortisol the regular amount I take everyday or is this enough stress to warrant stress dosing? Guest guest
Some people on Real Thyroid are much more liberal with stress-dosing and they'll double their daily dose for a day or two after stresses much less than illnesses and injuries. I did that and thyroid dumped that night over the holidays. I'm not blaming anyone over there, I'm the one that did it, but I'm being more careful with the stress-dosing now. I do intend to stress-dose some when I increase Armour from now on b/c I struggle when I do so and it has to stressing the adrenals as much or more than anything. > > Don't know how orthodox my answer is....but I am in the middle of > moving, and I found that instead of stress dosing...if I move my > dosing around it helps.
