Guest guest
: Make sure the anethesiologist is aware that you are taking prednisone. Would make sure that you speak with him/her prior to surgery (not day of) and relay that people with RP do seem to react differently to anesthesia. Have heard that Prednisone can cause some difficulty with anesthesia but believe it is general anesthesia. I think it depends on how much you are on also. I think I read that it decreases the ability of the body to eliminate the anesthetic. Also make sure they know that intubating you can cause a flair up of the RP. I would just make them aware that you need extra monitoring for the anesthesia and I'm sure you will be fine. Many in the group have had surgery and done ok. Hope this helps. I am going to have a colonoscopy in a couple of weeks and will be sedated for this procedure. I am a little concerned about the Prednisone, 10mg. and the Imuran that I am on. Also can being on Prednisone cause more bleeding if I have any polyps that have to be removed? This group has always been so helpful with any questions or concerns that I have had in the past. Glad to be a member of this great group. mcphoto@... Thanks a million Ederegger hi and welcome. maybe we can come up with answers that our doctors can't

Guest guest
Hi there my problem is there are no doctors who want to prescribe it for me.... so i'm at a loss.... i'm tired of running from one doctor to another... it seems no one wants to take on the responsibility of prescribing this med to me...or to take my symptoms seriously... i've persisted and cried and explained all my symptoms as clearly as possible.... and all the doctors want gallons of blood tests done before anyone decides to do anything about it... so i wait and wait.... i'm really feeling abandoned... i don't have the energy of running around anymore... what happens, happens at this point.... kayleigh ********************************************** Hi Kayleigh-Pete has pred 1mg,5mg, and 10mg on hand at all times..he not only needs it for flares but then when coming down he needs the little doses. It is prescription only.....the doc orders it " as directed' and he gets 100 tabs of each..it is also very cheap compared to all the other drugs Janet ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com
