Guest guest
I would avoid foods high in sodium as it is almost impossible to avoid totally! -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://www.seewell4less.com/Valspage.htm Medical Alert Bracelets
Guest guest
So basically, I should aim for testing during the first part of my period. When you mean fast salt, do you mean added salt or any sodium? Would I need to completely avoid foods that have sodium in them? Thanks! Cherie Experience: that most brutal of teachers. Guest guest
Thanks Val! I was hoping you'd say that. :-) I can't imagine trying to completely avoid sodium for 2 days. Guest guest
I asked my ND, who is not really up on all of this, but did look it up. This is what she found: Here is what by lab book says: Aldosterone levels peak in the morning, so that is a good time to check Progesterone, estrogen, licorice and diuretics need to be discontinued for 2 weeks prior to the test Pt. should not limit salt intake for 2 weeks prior to the test and should be about 3000 mg per day Any potassium deficiencies, if they exist should be corrected prior to testing for aldosterone Testing is best performed if the patient has been in an upright position for 2 hours before the test She couldn't find anything out about time of the cycle info.
