Guest guest
Hello everyone, I know I have been involved in a few discussions, but now I need to know more about Minocyclin. Dr. K. changed me from Biaxin to Minocyclin yesterday and I will be starting on Monday. It states on the paper that you have to take the medicine on an empty stomach. Can I eat breakfast at 6:30 am first and then about 9 am I take the pill? I get very easy sick to my stomach and don't want a problems come now. Thanks, stay well. Guest guest
Hi Eva; I found that taking Mino on an empty stomack made me feel yucky.I take it with food as long as there is no dairy to cancel it out.If taken with food one loses about 15% efficacy.Since I only take 100mg 3 times a week it does not make any difference to me.Doing extremely well considering I am supposed to be dead 6 years ago. hehehe.I have little flares now and then but am running at 200% Lynne G./ Scleroderma > Hello everyone, > > I know I have been involved in a few discussions, but now I need to > know more about Minocyclin. Guest guest
Hi, Eva! I started off taking the mino about 45 minutes before eating in the morning and later after dinner in the evening. It did upset my stomach. My doc said it was okay to take it with food if I needed to do so. Once I did that, I didn't have any problems. Blessings! Guest guest
That is one of the recommended ways to take Minocycline. I take the other one an hour before bedtime. take with a full glass of water and take probiotics before meals. > > Hello everyone, > > I know I have been involved in a few discussions, but now I need to know more about Minocyclin. Guest guest
Sorry,....hi again Lynn. Thank you so much for your info. I do know you live in Canada and when I read that the capsule is blu/purple and orange I said " YES " !! b/c that's exactly what I rec'd. I will use them and monitor myself, of course, to be certain they are as effective as the others I took for so many years. I again thank you for your quick response and to say you made my day is a total understatement.
